Is anyone really surprised by the score tonight? 21:47 - Apr 8 with 8630 viewsbosh67

Considering the line up I'm surprised we got nil.

Never knowingly right.

In answer to that last question:

- because it's the professional thing to do
- because you're paid to do it - it's your job!
- for pride in the badge
- for personal pride
- for the fans that travelled up to Blackburn on a Tuesday eve
- so you can look friends, family and teammates in the eye knowing you have everything
- because it's important to get some form and confidence ahead of the play-offs which are financially crucial to this club
- because winning becomes a habit

Are there enough reasons for you there??

You would be an utterly disgraceful teammate to have if that's your attitude.

I didnt mean bust a gut in actual play . I meant in team selection for a game like this.

The professional thing is for the best available team to be fit and ready for the playoffs.

All of your other "reasons" come after that ... IMO of course

One slight issue in that Harry doesn't know his best team, IMO

So why not use it as a game to give Petrasso etc a run? What are we getting out of picking Luke Young at centre half tonight - short medium or long term?
You're defending the indefensible here.

But that's the bloody point!!

Whoever we play should be good enough to at least compete at this level. But they're not competing. They play with no energy, pace, urgency or passion. This comes from the manager. It's his job to inject it.

Whilst I disagree with it, I can see the reason for maybe resting the odd player and getting the key guys fit and ready for the playoffs. I'd rather we were winning and gaining momentum but I can see some semblance of logic.

But given our squad, and who was available, regardless of the injuries, we should still be able to complete. The players should still be able to play with passion, pride, desire, a semblance of a style and system, etc. They don't though. What is the manager doing? What has he been doing? What the f*ck do we pay him for? He's not just bad at his job, he's not even doing his job.

Exactly. Or even playing Carroll and Keane, two players who are clearly out of their depth at our level and are not even our players. If we are going to give young players experience they should be our own young players, not those from other Clubs. Not that either will be retained by their parent clubs once their current contracts run out.

Essex - I kind of agree with you principle of protecting players for the play offs, but a losing run will destroy confidence whoever has played or not played.

Also, as others have said, why not try out some for the future. Donaldson ahead of young, YSY ahead of BAE, Petrasso for Miaga etc....

Especially when we've got a 21yr old we signed for £150k THIS SEASON on the bench and a youngster of ours with two season's starting experience in the league below not even in the squad. Why not play these guys?

If there's no need to really "win the game", why play an ageing RB at CB, why play 2 Spurs loanees, a 35 yr old midfielder coming to the end of a 6th month contract, a crap loanee from Man Utd, a loanee from West Ham, and play another West Ham loanee off the bench??

It is completely illogical and indefensible. If you're not furious and/or upset as a QPR fan at what's going on, something is wrong.

I dont know , who does . Maybe he is concerned that Simpson may break down again so while building Simpsons fitness he gives Young some game time . Potentially Young is better than Hughes at FB .

He has Donaldson on the bench if either cant make 90 min .

I enjoyed your tombola comment but do you honestly think that he made his team selection without any thought at all .

Who is fit , who is fatigued, who is unwell, who is close to triggering a new contract ... we cant know .

Well the options appear to be:

1) give it no thought cos he doesn't care

Or

2) he's a moron

Or

3) he does not care for the good of QPR at all so has no interest beyond this season.

All aren't really acceptable for a manager, in my view. Radical approach to management as that is.

On your last point, if the club really wants us to get behind the team, perhaps they should be open and honest about what the issues are?

Otherwise as fans the only information we have is the squad list, the team sheet, the dire performance on the pitch and baseless rumours in the press/messageboards. With those as the only sources of information we have, is it any wonder that fans are second-guessing why Redknapp is making these decisions and criticising him?

Let's face it, that team sheet on paper looked horrendous, and the performance matched.

There's no point in this conversation. If Redknapp picked himself and Bondy Bond upfront tonight you'd be on here saying "well he's probably protecting his better players for the play offs and he does need to stretch his knee."

or option 4 he picked what he thought was the best most experienced team he had available and it didn't work.

Conspiracy theories about him not caring and being some sort of evil villain are a lot more fun than the reality of this.

I'm not saying he picked the right team at all tonight, i laughed when i saw it.

I'd have played Zamora ahead of Keane and maybe given Donaldson a go at centre half although I'd be lying if I said i knew anything about him. The rest of the team I pretty much agreed with considering who was missing. It is a real mob mentality at QPR these days though, the majority on here will only be happy when they have the blood of the manager as if that will magically make the team and the club any better.

It might work but would depend on who we replaced him with and judging by the clubs previous record I wouldn't fancy them to get it right, of the last 11 full time managers I'd say we've got the right man 3 times in warnock, de canio and Holloway. I've no confidence at all in them getting it right this time and think that is a far bigger problem we're going to face than what Redknapp does with the team in the next 5 games

money only gets you so far, the best teams in this league are usually ones with a nucleus of players that have been at a club for 2 years or more and the year they go up they add the quality to push them on, thats what Leicester have done this year and what we did adding Adel and co the the likes of gorkss, faurlin, buz, connolly etc

don't get wrong i agree we should have done better but money isn't everything in this league which is what makes it so much better than the prem imo

Not at all Dave. Deliberately misinterpret my post for the sake of your own worn out narrative, why don't you.

Option 4, if it was genuine, is option 2.

I, like many, simply don't think he gives two sh*ts for QPR for all the reasons I've posted tonight and before. He's simply not doing his job. I can't believe he's always been this bad. If he has, then I refer you back to option 2. No, I just don't think he cares and he's taking the route he thinks will best preserve his reservation, make it look like he did the best with what was at his disposal and if you can't go up with the players he was picking, then no one could have got them up. It's all excuses. The bloke has done nothing this season to warrant the title of manager.

I hate what he has done to the team, club and fanbase this season. The apathy and alienation is astonishing.

I've liked and respected many of our managers. Hughes was awful and so too is Redknapp. I will personally be so much happier when he's gone. I think the club will be better off when he's gone. If he left tomorrow and we had to appoint Steve Gallen till the end of the season I would be a) delighted and b) would think we would stand a far better chance of going up.

I've seen nothing for a couple of Months that suggests we will do well in the play offs, nothing from our players and certainly nothing from our manager and his training staff.

not misinterpreting anything, just offering a different opinion which you don't seem able to accept. Not bothered if you agree with me or not but think you've gone well over the top about him.

He's made a complete pigs ear of the last 3 games but is nowhere near as bad as you make out

I've kept thinking either HR has cunning master stroke up his sleeve, or he aint got a scooby. Losing to 10 men at Bournemouth was done without a clue, tonight just confirmed it. Going up? I'd put money on Milwall escaping rather than us making the play-offs. And if we do we aint going anywhere but out.
