QPR Accounts... on 15:54 - Mar 6 by Gloucs_R | Does a transfer embargo stop you buying or signing players? For example, we have 15 odd players leaving this summer. Does that mean we wouldnt be able to resign any or bring any in on a free? |
Well it's meant to stop you registering players. So we could renew contracts but that's it. But then Watford had a transfer embargo on them last summer and simply wrote to the league asking for permission to sign players every time they wanted to and they all got signed off

Wont this loss and any fine just be offset against profits in the rest of the group and reduce the tax payable . I think financial Fair play will prove to be unworkable across Europe .

QPR Accounts... on 15:45 - Mar 6 by Northernr | I'm not convinced it would Dave. We've more than enough about us with the players we already have contracted for next season to make a very decent fist of the league. I think the embargo would be next January anyway, so nothing to preclude the usual gratuitous dozen new faces in the summer. |
Agreed - This May be a blessing in disguise, in the Summer we get rid of the dross , keep the Players we need for the Championship and use a percentage of the Remy & Tarbs money to recruit a few young players who can compete in the Championship. There will be players out of contract good enough for the Championship and possibly a couple of good young players on season long loans, somebody like Bamford for instance. Think the transfer embargo is inevitable if we are in the Championship but that starts in January 2015 What we don't do is resign players like Jenas, who is currently touting for a new contract because for only the second time this season he had an ok game. We could possibly give him a contract with the intention of being a squad player IF he takes a massively reduced wage, otherwise he can just piss off with the rest of them.

would depend on how many of the out of contract players stay. I still think the fine and embargo comes in next year anyway so we'll be find to spend and spend again in the next two windows

FFP - According to the rules as a relegated club we are given 1 years grace, to get our house in order, I think. THe accounts for 2012/2013 should not mean we have a fine imposed but a transfer embargo can be imposed from January 2015. If I'm correct when we lodge this seasons accounts if we are still in the Championship we will be fined for season 2013/2014 unless we keep within the 8 million loss limit , two chances , dogs and none. tony rang me at home once ,back in 1996 over something to do with the wasted ferdinand money and simon osborne, fk knows what else it was about looking back. although i was pissed at the time , he came across as a nice bloke. peter ellis also rang me once and invited me for dinner before a match , over one of my rants in a kick up the r's fanzine.it was an open letter. i couldnt help but feel insulted when he asked me if i had a suit and tie! I would like to see a massive clear out at the end of the season. It would also be good to see 4 or 5 youth players in the first team squad. If we do not go up get rid of Harry and bring in Ian Holloway or someone who can do a job without having to splash the cash but can build a team. Harry Redknapp and Mark Hughes have been reminiscent of Loadsamoney on Harry Enfield.

So in summary, you think we'd be pretty fcked if we don't go up this season?

Who knows, I don't think we'll go out of business if we don't go up, it might bring some sanity to the club at last. I don't think anything announced today should have come as a shock to anyone

Well thatoif course depends if TF & partners are willing to commit to a club settled in the Championship with no realistic chance of a new entertainment complex..
QPR Accounts... on 17:21 - Mar 6 with 2419 views | nadera78 | Having had a few hours to think about it now, it's a pretty f**king obscene amount of money to throw away on anything, let alone a bunch of footballers. If anything it just emphasises how disconnected the club (players, staff and owners alike) is from the fans.

Absolutely - We all knew this was coming and had an idea the figures would be horrendous , I guess its just worse seeing it in black and white, why people think that today has now created Armageddon is quite amazing. Im like quite a few on here, this could be a blessing in disguise, get rid of the dross and start to recruit younger players with a greater desire to want to play for and win with QPR.

why no realistic chance of the new complex? I don't see how staying down or going up changes much in that regard. That would become more of an issue if we didn't go up next season
QPR Accounts... on 17:29 - Mar 6 with 2392 views | Antti_Heinola | One thing is that certain losses will be stemmed - a lot of players are out of contract this summer and next - although that has to be weighed against the lack of prem money. One thing's for sure - it's not good!

Whilst we joke about our inability to fill a 40k stadium in the PL, a 40k stadium in the Championship infront of 12/13k isn't viable even with the rewards of the multi use.

new stadium is years away though and a gold mine for Fernandes and co so I'd be surprised if they pull out this early.

QPR Accounts... on 14:00 - Mar 6 by Hunterhoop | I tink that's something similar to what the Telegraph was saying. Either way, any transfer embargo during the season = no Harry Redknapp IMO. Finally, we will be forced to make do with what we have got. Hill, Onouha, Traore, Faurlin, Barton, Phillips, Austin as the spine plus Ehmer, Harriman, Petrasso, Sutherland, Hitchcock, Yun as support....excellent stuff. |
Not convinced Barton would stick around or Austin/Phillips for that matter, especially if decent offers came in. Can see us doing a Charlton to be honest, battling for our lives with youngsters making up the side. Make Onouha or Faurlin captain and bring in some talent and we might have a fighting chance.

That's the thing. They've got a couple of billion reasons to stick around long term, given the scale of the development they have planned. QPR is important in so much as it provides a focal point and a bargaining tool in that development getting off the ground, as well as some welcome public support and enthusiasm from the fans. I'd be surprised if they walked away, now or into the future. They've got their eyes on a pot of gold.
