Taarabt giving Warnock his shirt 15:05 - Jan 26 with 9533 viewsRANGERS4EVER

Just saw on BBC Sport "Great scenes in the tunnel at Bramall Lane as Adel Taarabt interrupts Neil Warnock doing his post-match analysis on television to give his former manager his shirt from the match"

Nice gesture from Taarabt (This post is not one begging for Taarabt back, just giving information, so please do not hate)

Poll: Who would you most like to see at QPR?

Boss wants Taarabt out of Fulham this week - report - West London Sport http://www.westlondonsport.com/features-comment/boss-wants-taarabt-out-of-fulham

Get him back at Rangers miles better than anything we have at the club at the moment and you never know you might seem some exciting games

I'd rather have a settled dressing room and everybody pulling in the same direction. Splits and factions are one of the major reasons we ended up back in this division and he was no small part of that.

Ringo Starr ate my hamper.

It's only in the sun, but I would have him back.
If he came on and created chances and showed his skills, we would all be singing his name and loving it, he loves that.
The trouble is, if he comes back and strops about, gets the hump, turns up late for training he could seriously cock up this next few months.
Thank god it's not our decision.

There is no decision to make. It's not happening.

He wouldn't play, and would end up skulking around the training ground earning more money than almost everyone actually trying hard on the pitch.

Nothing good can come if him returning.

Anyone have Al-Gharaffa's number still?

ah the old 'one season' myth.
Saved us from relegation the previous season, as admitted by Warnock in his book - he had a major hand in almost every goal we scored from the moment Warnock arrived until the end of that season.
Best player in the league the following season.
Had an awful start the following season, unfit and disgraced himself. But then was a major part of the side after Christmas, playing in almost all of Hughes's games and scored vital goals against Arsenal and Spurs to help us win 5 home games on the trot to keep us up. He was disciplined, hard-working, even diligent.
Then Hughes decided to make him the playmaker/fulcrum the following season. After one game, during which he was superb in the first half, he abandoned this. Taarabt got injured, but returned to score a wonder goal v West Ham. When Redknapp took over he was already the talisman again, and was consistently our best player for three months - a leader, in fact. then he missed the pen v Norwich and had a bad game v Man Utd and despite everything he'd done for Harry - being the one spark he could count on, he dropped him. He brought him back v Villa as a sub, where he was superb. But then kept him off the pitch again. He brought him back v Fulham, where he scored and won a penalty, and then dropped him again.

The idea that he only played well for one season is a nonsense. Adel is his own worst enemy, for sure, I make no excuses for him, but he's also been very poorly managed at times - and particularly by Redknapp.

I agree with all that Antti except your last line - " but he's also been very poorly managed at times - and particularly by Redknapp."

He's a player that is impossible to manage. The only reason Warnock got anything out of him was because he was allowed to do what the f*ck he liked. And if it hadn't been for the flexibility of the rest of the squad during our promotion season it would never have worked. Warnock did more managing of the other players by preventing them from killing Taraabt than he did with Adel.

Redknapp did exactly the right thing. You can't have one bloke believing he can do what he likes to the detrement of the rest of the squad. Taraabt needs to grow up and be a team player off the pitch as well as on.

No, Redknapp didn't. Hughes got plenty out of Taarabt without pandering to him.

Redknapp's management of Taarabt in my view was very poor. When Warnock came in, and we were in deep, deep trouble. He told Adel he'd play every game for the rest of the season regardless of if he had a bad game. He reaped the rewards. When Redknapp came in, he played Adel from the start and was rewarded with match-winning performances against Fulham and Chelsea and for 3 months he was either our best, or one of our top 3 players, in ever game.

Against Norwich he carried the team on his back, as he has done many times before. He took the responsibility of a penalty, a crucial penalty, and for the first time in his QPR career, he was denied. It was obvious to everyone - he even admitted it in interviews - that he felt terrible about that miss. He blamed himself for us not winning, despite the fact he'd done more than anyone to get us in that position. He then played poorly v Man Utd. And what did Redknapp do? Dropped him - pretty much for the rest of the season. Until that point, Taarabt had never let Redknapp down, yet it took one pen miss and one poor game for him to be snubbed.

Bare bones.

Well, as I said, it's as much about attitude off the pitch as well as on. He was given an opportunity to prove he wanted to be part of the squad and he couldn't even be bothered to turn up to training on time, when staying away with the squad. Redknapp had made it clear to ALL players what his expectations were. If they didn't like it they could f*ck off somewhere else. I don't see how you can have any exceptions tp that. Taraabt's decision, no one else's.

Who knows what happened after the Norwich Penalty miss? Perhaps it effected Taraabt and that showed in training and his general attitude off the pitch? We've got no idea whether he was snubbed or whether he just wasn't putting everything into training, which is just as likely to have happened.

If you're suggesting Hughes was a good man-manager then I suggest you look back on his last 15 games or so. Either he was spending 100% of his time managing Taraabt or he was just f*cking useless.

He's on less than Joey Barton, Cesar and SWP for starters so not sure that's true about the earning more than everyone else

I'll have to borrow your crystal ball one of these days, must be amazing to see the future and be so certain of it

If you read, he's earning more than almost everyone actually playing for us - Barton.

Added to him being sent home from pre-season in disgrace infront of the majority of our team, his best mate Barton running the team and his biggest supporter Derry long gone, in my humble opinion, there's more chance of the youth teamers getting a game than Taarabt. That's of course not to say that an agreement won't be found for Fulham to be rid of him, but he would - again on my humble opinion - be moved straight on elsewhere.

And when the going got tough against one of our biggest rivals and we were getting smashed what did he do ?

He ran away in a strop like a spoilt child . No manager should have to pander to that

Was this Fulham away? He was told by the manager he could go home so he went home then when the other players moaned about it to Warnock he changed his tune and publicly slaughtered Taarabt.

In other big games when he was left on the pitch against the likes of Chelsea, Fulham, Spurs and City he did pretty well

Still not sure that's true on his wages, Green was on more than him as well and in a dressing room full of millionaires I doubt he's the richest of them.

Barton has said recently how well Taarabt did for us when he was here before so I wouldn't be so quick to assume how that would go, Barton knows better than anyone that as people get older they change and it's always worth offering second/third/fourth chances to people.

I just don't know why you can be so certain he would be sulking, he may well sulk he may well get moved on but then again he might not. Personally I'd be surprised if Fulham sent him back early unless they are buying someone else.

Agree with Henti. Adel is Arry's achilles heel. It's a gamble, but I think Austin and Adel up front would tear this League apart. Adel also needs to grow the fck up, his career is now on the buffers.

They need the spot on their 25man roster and maybe this is them moving to clear a spot.

Redknapp bombing him out for having the wrong attitude = bad management
