Graham Potter Ready To Return To Management

Graham Potter has been out of work since being sacked by Chelsea 18 months ago, however he has now said that he is ready to return to work and that could be interesting news to Southampton FC.

Graham Potter has been speaking about his future, Potter has been sitting out a notice period where Chelsea have been paying him his full wages since his departure from Stamford Bridge.

It was also thought that he was in contention for the England job and now with a new manager ensconced in that job in Thomas Tuchel, it seems that Potter is ready to get back into club management according to givemesport.com

They quote Potter as answering the question of whether he was ready for a return to club football as saying :

"I do. I think the time I've had has been amazing. I had 12-13 years of non-stop football, coaching, managing, so from the fourth tier in Swedish football to the last eight in the Champions League with Chelsea.

"That doesn't come for free in terms of how much you have to devote and how much you have to sacrifice for that, especially when you've got a young family.

"So to be able to have the time to spend with them, to reconnect with them, to sort of get a bit of energy and reflect and look back on the 12 years and think, 'Okay, what went well, and what can I improve? And what do I need to do? And what do I want the next 12 years to look like'."

This will start Southampton supporters jangling, although so far they haven't taken criticism of Russell Martin from social media to outright rebellion in the stands, Potter now wanting a return to club management will start up the calls for Dragan Solak and Sport Republic to act decisively and not dawdle and risk losing Potter to one of their relegation rivals.

I would think that whether it is Southampton or a rival, Potter could be tempted by a short term deal till the end of the season with a big bonus for achieving safety.

That would be a no lose situation for Potter, if he was to keep Saints up it would rebuild his fractured reputation and if we were to go down, then he would be given a free pass with it being claimed that Saints were a lost cause whoever took charge.
