I think most if not all people want free speech. The question here is, does Musk honestly believe in it? I think not but he certainly isn't the only media magnate that pays lip service to the idea but in practice doesn't stand for it.

The search for a factual, true and free news source is not an easy one.

I too have been thinking of coming off X. I've always managed to avoid the worse stuff on there by keeping a very low profile.

Does anyone use Threads which has a much larger number of posters?

I'm normally pretty positive about my team but I have to admit, right now I'm feeling pretty negative about our prospects, and have done for a while. Frankly, it feels worse than it was this time last season. I go to games not looking forward to watching them.

There are multiple problems to address, not least an incompetent CEO who has completely lost the confidence of the fans. Things could change but right now it's very hard to see where the next goal is coming from let alone the next win.

I've just seen Jack Supple post that Nicolas Madsen has failed to register a single tackle in 4 of his last 5 appearances.

That's just unacceptable. I wonder what the data was on this aspect of his game when we recruited him?

A small point. It's not strictly true that few fans had heard of Cifuentes before he was appointed. He'd been considered by the club previously - around the Beale/Critchley time - and he was discussed in this forum.

I'll add my tuppence worth by saying Cifuentes is making too many mistakes this season but this is not the time to change managers.

Last season he showed he could get wins by being less purist and more pragmatic. He needs to do that again to keep us in the Championship. There are signs he's trying to do just that.

Nevertheless, I am very worried about our prospects this season, and have been for some time.
