Decent performance and could have been a greater margin of victory. Some promising young lads out there tonight. All overseen by Jimmy McNulty from the stands. Very encouraging and a decent crowd turned up to watch. |

The food is excellent, and has been on every occasion I have opted for the pre-match meal. I agree with everything that TalkingSutty referred to (above). I was one of the party on the same table. Tammy bloody Wynette, whilst there's bugger all on the TV's is not what we paid for, nor what we (and others) expected. Needs to improve - and quickly |

The ones living abroad will retain the WFA, despite what this Government says. That's the EU for you. |

There was no other suitable or workable alternative. The right outcome at last. |

Proposed new McDonalds is across town (Molesworth Street/Water Street junction) from the shop on Yorkshire Street and is a 'Drive-Thru' store. It will be a brand new build on a site that has been used as a car park since demolition of the previous building occurred many years ago. Whether you'd claim a new McDonalds is 'progress' is a moot point, but it's jobs, income and development in an area of town that is ripe for it. Good news for Rochdale. |

22.30 at Spotland, went to Littleborough to drop off the matchday sidekick, and home for 23.10. Great day all round. |

I'm not sure whether this came across on the TV broadcast, but the absolute togetherness of these players is a joy to behold. The camaraderie between the whole squad is palpable. When Connor McBride scored his goal, he ran towards us Dale fans followed by his ecstatic team mates. Mobbed. Crazy scenes. McBride then tapped his left forearm, where it seemed he had a tattoo. Those much closer than me, suggested it was 'RAFC'. That shows amazing commitment. With players like Beckwith, Allakharia, Gordon, Henry (loan), East, we have a solid base to have a serious crack at getting to the EFL within the allotted time. These lads are mainly on 2-year deals. They will develop, grow and progress together if we can keep them. 5 games in and it's promising. Only 2 conceded, including the ridiculous comical goal at York. Of course there will be mistakes and setbacks on the way, that's inevitable and we need to improve 'options' at the top end of the pitch with additional personnel. Right now, I feel we have made great strides in the defence and midfield areas, (Ferguson was excellent when replacing EEL) but the priority in now a striker to play alongside Mitchell/Rodney to give Jim extra flexibility in his selection. I'd ask the younger element of travelling fans to stop taking the pi$$ out of Kairo. It's not funny, it's counter-productive and unnecessary. He works hard for the team, but gets poor service (so far). The last 30 minutes yesterday was more like what we need. The midfield and wide men running the show, we repeatedly cut them open and got some real opportunities to get crosses into the box. TAR was a huge asset when he came on. The win was deserved. Steady as she goes, but there is plenty to be positive about. [Post edited 27 Aug 10:07]

He scored 114 on his Test debut, the first Englishman to do so for about 20 years. An incredible, fearless batsman who scored over 6000 Test runs. Along with other 'lefties', such as Gower and Cook, he was a joy to watch and a nightmare for bowlers. Very sad to lose him at such a young age, but he had been ill for some time. RIP Thorpey. |

I don't feel sorry for him. He was far too quick to condemn and lacked a balanced response. Too concerned with chasing the popular vote. It showed him as naive and gullible. Poor show. |

The one thing about MND is that as soon as you are diagnosed, it is the beginning of the end. No cure, just one outcome at some distant, undetermined date. Tick-tock. I know 3 people (including one relative) who have succumbed to this wicked disease and it is hideous in the way that it takes your life away, whilst nurses, carers and loved ones can only stand and watch, provide their treatment and care, against all the odds. There are many cruel illnesses out there, but few, if any are as relentless and devastating as this. Rob Burrow lived his days with great dignity and fortitude and was supported by a massive network of friends and the Rugby family generally, who did a magnificent job for him and made life as tolerable as they could for him and his family. They deserve the highest praise. Rob will be remembered for many years to come and for very good reasons. A wonderful sporting icon and a great family man. If his legacy is to have highlighted MND and increase the research and funding, then he and his family can be very proud. Rest in Peace, Rob. |
