One thing that will spark confrontation is away fans walking down a fenced off corridor behind the ~Kingsland and then what about on the bridge |

No one is arguing about the fact that the birth of your children is a highlight unsurpassed. It is about that in some occupations you don't have a choice in the matter, you have to miss these things. The real crux of the matter is whether you consider that a footballer should get special dispensation despite being well paid to work on certain days and weeks of the year, to nip off home. |

Yes there are a lot of TV games to be played and it is also the weekend before the Champions League & Europa League games so that will affect the TV game selection. Im not sure what the big deal is though, at the moment the fact of the matter is that they have produced these fixtures all on the weekend with so many of the big teams in London and of course the South Coast teams. There are potential issues as it stands at the moment. The UEFA games could also affect it, Spurs are in the Europa league playing on a Thursday as are Man Utd If the English teams all progress then none of them will play on a Monday night, so most of these games will be condensed into Saturday/Sunday. Whichever way it is played there will be some potential issues |

The chances that all four will be played on different days is likely, but far from guaranteed, Premier League games that weekend are Aston Villa v Nottingham Forest Brentford v Chelsea Crystal Palace v Brighton Everton v Arsenal Fulham v Liverpool Ipswich Town v Wolves Leicester City v Newcastle United Man Utd v Man City Spurs v Southampton West Ham v AFC Bournemouth I would imagine that Man Utd V City is a nailed on live game, Brentford V Chelsea also adds to the mix at Clapham, where everyone goes through |

Its all intertwined , Southampton Pompey & Bournemouth could all got through Waterloo, then Pompey & Brighton could also both go through Victoria |
| Forum Reply | Jose Fonte at 21:58 27 Jun 2024
Fonte had signed a new contract in October 2015, he said at the time, “I’m obviously very pleased and very happy. Fluid logo “I want to thank the manager, Les Reed, Ralph [Krueger], Katharina [Liebherr] — all of the staff and all of the board — for showing their trust and belief in me. “I am extremely happy that they are giving me this opportunity to keep being in this great club, and I hope I can give back with good performances and by helping the club move forward. “This is where I feel happy and where I’ve been very successful, so this is where I want to be and where I want to win.” But then after the Euros his agent also the manager of new Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho was trying to get him a move to Manchester United, so what changed Fonte's mind about being so happy at Saints. The answer was money pure and simple and an agent who cared more about money than his client. West Ham came on the scene later after Mourinho had been warned by the Man Utd hierarchy to stop trying to buy his agent's clients and sign true quality signings |

So if we look at the counter argument, how would he have concentrated in the first place, he would always be on edge, births can happen at any time he would be worrying that he wouldnt be able to get a private jet at short notice, that by the time he had got to the airport jumped on a plane and got to England he would miss the birth anyway, so how could he be focused when he went there in the first place. Yes it does depend on the individual, so perhaps he should have decided to not go in the first place, now he is going to potentially get the blame for disrupting the whole squad if we go out at the weekend |

Of course most people would take leave from their job to attend the birth of their child, but a job is a job whether you are a pro footballer, you work on an oilrig, an airline pilot or a member of the armed forces. You are going to be potentially working and can't drop everything to attend a birth. Yes he can jump on a private jet and be back in the camp 12-15 hours later, but a birth isn't done to a schedule, he could be gone for days. There is then the fatigue involved from lack of sleep and travel, is that good preparation for an important football match. Of course family is more important than football, so sometimes you have to make a choice, indeed this isnt the first time he has made the choice to leave the England hotel, back in August 2020 he left the England squad hotel with Mason Greenwood and allegedly brought some girls back to the team hotel, he already had one child at that stage with his current partner. |

A nation of only 4 million people, just slightly less than the average attendance at Fratton Park have done well, hopefully the last we see of Ronaldo |

Has gone home for the birth of his first child, is this acceptable or not ? Plenty of people have to miss the birth of a child due to working away, if you are in the Armed forces serving abroad you dont get a flight home for a birth. Some will say he has his priorities right, but Im not sure, he is highly paid and it comes with the job to work away, whatever your occupation |
