well said Pintsize. I'd love it if the top 6 would all disappear and join a superleague with all the other European giants. The fun has gone. The season hasn't started yet and I can pretty much tell you who will finish in the top 6, middle 6 and bottom 8. |
| News Comment | Should We Play The French National Anthem At St Mary's On Saturday ? at 13:44:08
Totally agree Nick and for the 3x reasons you gave. However if the savages struck in London and the crowds before the French Ligue 1 were to sing God save the Queen I'd see it as a lovely, reassuring gesture. I'm favouring a no vote though, where were we after the 9/11 attacks. Then if we are to start doing this on what level of atrocity do we need to sing the victims national anthem? 2 killed, 5 killed or does it have to be over 50? No not for me. |

I dont agree, 1 match ban is too lenient. Say a team was losing and there was 5 mins to go, most players would take the hit for their team if they get a pen for the sake of only a 1 game ban. Also you might get a player who didnt fancy the next game (silly I know, but it could happen) so again the 1 game is no deterant. I'd like the panel to get serious, ban them for 3 games, I'm telling you it would stop then. |
| News Comment | Saints V Sunderland The Verdict at 13:39:06
Adrian Durham (talksport) was presenting from St Marys he came out with 2x quotes laughing he said "watch Sunderlands first goal and I promise you you will laugh out loud" after the game he said "I would genuinely put this Southampton performance in my top 5 premiership performances ever" dont get me wrong, he's still a numpty, but I did enjoy those comments! |
| News Comment | Saints Could Be Playing For Top Spot At The Emirates ! at 13:36:25
Mental isn't it, lets embrace it Saints. Arsenal will want to bounce back from the Man Utd game, shame we are up next especially at the Emirates but if the team play their game and with no fear you just never know. As for Chelsea away, I'd rather be playing these next as they were very poor against WBA on the weekend. No width and very little imagination. I agree THEREIN76, the BBC pundits totally dismiss the Saints, whatever, "you never win anything with kids"!! Just imagine if we do get 6 points from the next 2 games, I'll be staring at the Premiership table more then than I am now! |

I usually sit here applauding your comments and the effort you put into this site Nick but your spread here is pathetic, get a grip, you sound like a baby, a spoilt brat. Agreed things at the Emirates were bad, they were worse than bad, absolute rabbits in headlights and I for one couldn't believe my eyes. We are better than the performance on Saturday and now the dust and pain has settled from Saturday I believe it is time to reflect on how far we have come and re-group. FFS 3 out of the 4 teams we have just played are off to the Champions league this week, we knew we would be very unlikely to get a result from plaiyng them and truth is we got what we knew we would, and that is nowt. What worries me isn't the dropped points against city, utd or the arsenal but the dropped points against wigan as they are in our mini shit league alongside qpr, reading, norwich, villa and west ham. The season starts Saturday.. |
| News Comment | Saints V Wolves The Verdict at 20:46:22
ffs leave Nic alone, grt article as always,. I'd much rather (and look forward to) reading your write up than any other. "I would love someone to agree to write their own match report for all the games this season to contrast my own views on the games". How funny to see there are no takers... mugs! |
| News Comment | Setting The Points Targets For The Premiership at 13:13:12
Great article Nick (as usual). If there is ever a good time to play the reigning champs at the own ground it might just be the 1st game back. Saints are going to be like a coiled spring just dieing to get going (after having such a long break) and will hopefully play without fear, where as City (hopefully) might have some tired legs after their shorter break after so many of them playing in the Euros. It is going to be a very hard season, right now I'll 17th.. |
