| Your Report | Southampton v Leeds United Your Report added at 18:03:24 Nice to see the team play attacking, pressing football rather than the phlim-phlam-shilly-shally-thumb-up-their-arse RustBall. From the kick off, back to Bazunu and whaaaam! up the pitch. As much excitement in this one game from Saints than in the previous 8. The only times we were under pressure was when we played around at the back. Smallbone looked a better player! The defence were solid (no place for Stephens!) Charlie buzzed. AdamA and Sulemana pressured the Leeds defence. Piroe? Looked ordinary!! A much better all-round performance |

| Your Report | Southampton v Brighton and Hove Albion Your Report added at 17:50:35 In 2 years we will be playing Portsmouth. And they won't get promoted!!! That's the worst Saints performance I've seen in 65 years of watching. And worse, what happens when the new manager bounce wears off? In 50 days and 3 matches we've gone backwards. B&HA looked really good! 2 criticisms: Whenever Saints attacked, Lewis Dunk goes down! Their goalkeeper had to be, at least, yellow carded for his assault on CheA. Nothing to do with whether the whistle had gone or not, you can't chop down then shove another player. The ref in that instance is saying he could have punched CheA and not been carded. Thank goodness for Lyanco, the only Saint showing some fight. And skill. If only JWP had half the skill. All I can say is Luton must be pleased to get a new manager in |
| Your Report | Southampton v Tottenham Hotspur Your Report added at 19:32:59 Didn't realise the rules were changed to allow teams to bring their own ref!!! Only 5 fouls by Spuds? Their left back committed more than that in the first half including an assault in Shane which had to be at least a yellow but we didn't even get a free kick. The rules say a player jumping for a ball must make a legitimate attempt to win it. The Suds player ducked his head and jumped backwards into FF, a clear foul, there or anywhere on the pitch. For that decision I upped the refs rating to 1. At the game and on the Amazon rerun I thought Son was offside but it wasn't shown the usual 8 times. In fact never repeated. Suspicious!! Perhaps the ref had a fiver on Kane to score at that minute?? See how he kept delaying the pen by walking up to FF to make home stand on the line. He can stand where he likes. Only when diving to save (or not) must he be in contact. Another masterclass in tactics and team selection from Ralf. With 11 we were much better than the overpaid Prima Donnas of the song-stealing Shites!! They do need lessons in standing up when someone brushes their shirts like gossamer on a spring breeze. Oh, the game? Enjoyed what I saw; much of the second half I had my eyes shut when they were in our half!! |
| Your Report | Arsenal v Southampton Your Report added at 21:22:00 Ralph picks about our best available team In the first 15-20 minutes we create 5 opportunities. Tella 1, AdamA 2, JWP 2fks. No chances take. In the next 10 minutes Arsenal create 2 chances, take both Yeah, let's blame the manager. Hang on, why not blame the forwards for not taking their chances and the defence for not defending? Central defence was abysmal and the full backs were .....somewhere; but not where they should be. Badnarek was his continuing poor self, Stephens was his consistent Championship self. Both Livramento and KWP were poor going forward and absent when it came to defending. Midfield was Diallo trying and JWP failing. If I said it 12 months ago I'd have cut my tongue out but Redmond was our best and only effective player. Caballero could do nothing much more for their goals. In those situations he has no chance. Unless he's facing our forwards! |
| Your Report | Everton v Southampton Your Report added at 17:29:08 Wrong keeper, wrong RB (Where's KWP), wrong CB (Livra for Stephens), wrong AMs - got to be Stuey and Tella. Forster was far better in the warm up games. McCarthy was error-prone. Tella and Stuey are far superior to Walcott and Djenepo who aren't consistent providers or scorers. Strange team in my view |
| Your Report | Sheffield United v Southampton Your Report added at 21:54:41 Funny old game. Tella, Stuey and Vesta were our standouts but everyone played their part in what was a pretty routine and comfortable win against a doomed side. The best thing is the "routine" and "comfortable". If I can write those two words after the next game.....!! |
| Your Report | Everton v Southampton Your Report added at 23:01:59 ElijahK. Clearly know nothing about goal keeping. Nothing he could have done, laid bare by the defence, a goal the moment the through ball was played. Still far superior to McCarthy, a back-up keeper at best as demonstrated by his entire career |
| Your Report | Everton v Southampton Your Report added at 22:54:59 Bad when you want your own player injured! Not seriously, just to the end of his contract. If "he" keeps getting picked you're going to need a 0 in the player ratings Nick. That guy Souness signed was far superior! If we didn't have Stuey we'd have nothing! |
| Your Report | Leeds United v Southampton Your Report added at 00:03:26 Absolutely useless. If, and a big if, Vesta had nodded home and Tella had been more positive when through on the keeper, we would have only lost 3 - 2! We may as well have done without forwards and we have nobody else to come in. Walcott is just another Redmond but faster at doing nothing. Sell Ings, Redmond, Stephens, JWP, Bertie, those out on loan and maybe a couple of others and bring in reliable strikers who can score and a fullback that can play either side. And for those saying replace Ralph, just one question: with whom? Nobody, but nobody, is gonna do any better. |
| Your Report | Southampton v Chelsea Your Report added at 14:51:48 Was Ings' mind somewhere else? Our passing was dreadful all game. One good pass from Redmond for a superbly taken goal and another late on were the only significant to remember. Salisu looks special. Needs to get used to the defensive line as he played Chelsea onside a couple of times. It'll come. I called the penalty correctly: McCarthy dives right ball put in opposite side. Good job Saints' players didn't make those studs first takles. We'd have been down to 9 players again. VAR 2 Southampton 0. It's becoming a gabit |
| Your Report | Newcastle United v Southampton Your Report added at 18:46:21 Sell Stephens- 2 assists to NUFC - and Redmond who cannot beat a man without losing the ball and incapable of passing to a teammate - pass success was 6%. Ralph might have realised what a fake Stephens is. Swapped JanBad to RB (he'd had to cover for a out of position Stephens most the first half) and got rid at first substitution. Should have replaced Redmond at same time. And leave them in NE |
