Just flicked through I-Player and watched her. OMG, she was bad. Never been to Glasto, but did 5 V festivals in the past and I think these were a lot better (and cheaper).
Couldn't believe Shania Twain was 58, but I definitely could see Cindi Lauper was 71. Why do they feel the drag people like Cindi Lauper from their care homes, when there is so much talent out there ? [Post edited 30 Jun 20:23]

I am off now. This is turning me into a grumpy old man. My Mum always said, if you haven't anything nice to say, don't say it. I really don't have any kind words to say about this.

Its well documented that I am no fan of Stephens, but throughout the season, he was criticised when we needed a leader on the pitch. Captain Kane has almost gone into hiding, yet you rarely see any criticism of his captaincy. Perhaps the players cant hear Kane from the side lines ? [Post edited 30 Jun 17:42]

1-0 down, being run ragged, giving ball away, but its not all bad, we have 70% possession !!
We have a striker who thinks he is playing in mid field or on wing.
opponents have more attempts in their small amount of possession.

And this is why Saints will never attract some of the best defenders in the world, like Grimaldo, Gvardiol or Cancelo, because they will not play '2nd fiddle' to Stephens. |

There was no need to do this, he still had 2 years left on his contract. We should have at least waited to see how he performs in the Premiership. He also needs to lose some of the arrogance and stubbornness, when things don't for right.
None of the top 8 were ever likely to be trying to poach him, so why now ? |

Given that all 3 are not Premiership (or Championship standard), I would like to see us play 'Rush goalie", where anyone can go in the sticks. Probably best KWP doesn't go in. |

Not the most inspiring signing. He is not consistent enough over a whole season and still prone to basic errors. I hope this is a just as a backup, and 3rd choice at that. |

I saw those reports as well.
Hopefully Liverpool will come back, and take him as 3rd choice. It will also help with their allocation of 'non home grown' players.
We should move on from McCarthy. He was ok in last few games, but let's not forget the poor years before that (near post and flapping at crosses etc). If they do offer him a new deal, I sincerely hope it is not on the same package he is on now. [Post edited 25 Jun 18:03]

Hi Nick, regarding your earlier comment about England (In Portugal thread):

England are definitely boring and far from methodical. I stand by my original comment that it is really tedious watching England. The over riding focus is so defensive and so predictable.
Southgate has drained every ounce of creativity out this team. Watching Kane spend more time in our own half and playing Alexander-Arnold in midfield, when we have some real creative players on bench is bizarre at best. It was obvious from post match comments from players that Southgate set team up to defend at all cost. [Post edited 21 Jun 14:13]

I have mixed feelings on Broja. When he first arrived here, he looked sharp and a real threat, but towards the end of his time he went off the boil.
He has done nothing since leaving us (granted he had a long injury) and can't get a start in Albania side.
I would have him back but not at the inflated prices being muted for Broja. |

I agree, there have been some really entertaining and exciting games. Games that I wouldn't normally watch have been quite good.
I know it's all about results, but England are so tedious to watch.
As for Portugal, they have enough talent in that squad now to dispense of Ronaldo's services. Good servant etc to country with 200+ caps, but at 39, it's time to move on. I was amazed Martinez made 5 subs and Ronaldo was still on at the end. He has too much influence over that squad which is probably not helpful. [Post edited 19 Jun 6:00]

Not the most inspiring signing (if it comes off, and it will because he is cheap) given that CB position has been a major challenge for Saints for a number of years now and the number of goals we leaked last year. |
