I make a rare mistake every now and then if he's desperate to become a journalist then he should be able to command a basic sense of the English language or take classes and they don't help him on that board. If he wants to be a journalist, he should take a few English classes to help him (the dole do this). And I'm typing on a keyboard that's probably 3 inches by 2 inches and I occasionally hit the wrong letter but I'm not doing it as a portfolio for becoming a potential journalist. I'm doing it for the hell of it. But reading his blog is like pulling teeth at times. | |

I hope he reads and considers that. If he strikes lucky, he could even tie it in with an away day.
Also, has he thought about hospital radio? I know there's one round Leeds somewhere that sends commentators out to games. If nothing else, it'd be good practice on reporting, and he may even make some contacts.
Or perhaps he'll just keep plugging away at his blog, in the vain hope he'll attract the attention of the Sun or the Times' sportdesks.
He's got more than enough passion and probably a good amount of commitment, but it's the academic side he seems to be lacking on. Sadly, until he improves that element, I feel he (and us) will be stuck with his bizarre blogs featuring pictures of the bits in between train carriages.

He's a real person that I've had the pleasure of meeting several times. I shared a table at a fans forum with him several years ago, where he asked hill and flitcroft if they could change the flavour of pies in the kiosks (or something similar).
He is a real dale fan and to be fair to him, he seems to go to a fair amount of away games. I would love to say he is a comic geneius, but what you read/see is what you get. | |
