QPR v Naaaarwich Match Thread 11:58 - Dec 6 with 35721 viewsWilkinswatercarrier

Not spotted one, so thought I'd start my first match thread.

Will we all get there, will the roof stay on, will QPR finally win at home?

Ancient astronaut theorists say 'YES' to all of them. A hard fought 2-1 win (though I'd be happy with a point and beating Oxford midweek).

U R's!

Sweet 20th position.

Stefan Moore, Stefan Moore running down the wing. Stefan Moore, Stefan Moore running down the wing. He runs like a cheetah, his crosses couldn't be sweeter. Stefan Moore. Stefan Moore. Stefan Moore.

Very good. I must say I did not rate Kolli very high but after today his stocks did rise.

Great result and performance by the sounds of it. Delighted for Kolli, and hope he develops further. Shame about Celar... hopefully not as bad as it looks. Another win against Oxford, and I'll start to believe we can finally put this LR "Monkey on our back" to bed. So pleased for Jimmy D as well. Three clean sheets in a row is very admirable and quite a turn around. A strong defence will be vital to our survival...as it was at the end of last season. Belief must be growing among MC and the players...hell even some of the supporters like me.And I am happy to admit I might have got it wrong, and others were probably right. To all those who have suffered at LR for so long...this one's for you.Still lots of work to do...but it looks so much better than a month ago. Let's get some of the injured back to bolster the squad, and even I will start looking up instead of at who is in L1 😉😁

Great win. Lets hope Celar and Paal injuries are not serious. The Celar one didn't look great. Thigh muscle injury it looked like.

Smells like a trout farm in here

Fingers crossed. Could do with some of the injured returning to keep the momentum going over this busy period.

Our best performance of the season :)

Great to see Koli score a brace.

Was he playing as a direct replacement for Celar or he was a little deeper and more on the left wing?

Either way, I hope his contract situation is sorted and he's staying at the club.

He's a maverick with a bit of swagger and I love it.

A fantastic performance and the high press did a job on Norwich who rarely threatened.

Wish I could be like David Watts

Fantastic win. All three goals were from Norwich mistakes and it feels much better when it is not us making those mistakes! But so f**king what.

Can we go out yet?

Funny old game Norwich had prepared for Celar so when he went off they had no answer for Koli .Not just his goals but his energy ,passion and sheer determination drove them nuts at the back.He could easily have 3 or 4 today fair play to him maybe our stress at striker has eased a bit .
Saw a highlight package and Norwich had a good goal chalked for offsides (their second one ) and could easily have been given that penalty but luckily the ref was so bad overall .
Great day for everyone in QPR land ,congrats to the team, managment, fans and Jimmy Dunne espiceally

Up to 12th on the form table with most of the bottom half of the table beneath us with the exception of Portsmouth.

Direct replacement, lone striker role. He looked a lot more on it than against WBA.

Breezy win, breezy day. Just heard a lorryload of turkey feathers has blown over on the Orwell bridge coming from the Bernard Matthews factory in Norfolk. No luck for Norwich today, eh ?

I thought both were offside. The first clearly and the second just. Don't be fooled by the camera angle from the gantry. The lino was looking down the line and made the correct call. Indeed, he gave a third offside which Nardi saved. Clearly something for the Norwich forwards to work on.

The penalty call, on the other hand, was a tad fortunate. Whilst it wasn't intentional Ashby's arm was out in a unnatural position. One for the "I've seen them given" tray. We had a stronger call for a penalty waved away at Watford so perhaps it does even itself out after all.

Final whistle, brilliant performance, Norwich were unexpectedly poor but we completely dominated them and thoroughly deserved the win. Dunne MOTM for me, just ahead of Kolli.

Yes they were, but aside from one or two teams, that is THE most frustrating thing about the last couple of seasons. We have, generally, been very poor, but then so is the rest of the Championship bar one or two teams.

The fact that we have consistently been worse than a lot of the teams we have played show just how bad we've been - Pompey, Derby, Hull - awful, awful teams, that we still managed to somehow be worse than.

Watford, Sunderland, Burnley, Sheff U (in the second half) all towards the top and all very, very average at best and we could not beat them.

This league is slop and still is all about fine margins; they've gone against us to date, maybe Norwich's errors at the back, the marginal offsides and peno shout are signs of things going FOR us for once.

Nice to have three clinical finishes too even if they were from Norwich errors.

Can we go out yet?

Well done my team on a fine first home win of the season. A welcome tonic for those brave souls who've continued to back Marti and the team through such adversity. Rest, recover and on to the next one.
