I know it sounds extreme but we should bring back the riot act. Can ping every phone in the area in multiple languages telling them they’ve got an hour to disperse and go home before the police/army come in authorised to use high amounts of force on anyone still rioting, |

Is there a specific offence for rioting? I have absolutely no idea. I would imagine though that the bulk of the sentence is for criminal damage, arson and assaults on police officers. Maybe looting in some cases. |

It’s a been a powdered waiting to explode since lockdown. There was a reaction from society who appear to have no respect for rule or democracy. No doubt we’ll learn more from the Leeds riots but I’m sure in certain parts of the media it’ll be portrayed as a reaction to poverty, a lack of understanding of minorities etc etc. |
