Nathan Redmond Could Be Off To Turkey Monday, 5th Sep 2022 21:52 The transfer window might be slammed shut in the UK, but the window in Turkey doesn't shut until this Thursday and there comes news of interest in Istanbul of taking Nathan Redmond on loan .
According to media sources in Turkey, Istanbul club BeÅŸiktaÅŸ are interested in taking Nathan Redmond on loan and although English clubs can't sign anymore players with the window in the UK now closed, they can transfer out players to countries where their transfer window is open.
According to journalist Sercan Dikme, Turkish giants Besiktas have opened negotiations with Southampton over a possible loan move for winger Nathan Redmond, it has become clear during the pre season and now after signing two wide players on the final day of the transfer window, that Ralph Hasenhuttl doesn't consider Redmond to be part of his plans going forward.
Some would be glad to see Redmond leave St Mary's, but I think during his 6 years at the club he has been a better player than some have given him credit for, when he has been out of favour he has knuckled down and got back in the team and he has scored some vital goals , not least the only goal in the League Cup Semi Final first leg against Liverpool at St Mary's that gave us something to defend in the second leg at Anfield.
Ironically with the departure of Oriol Romeu, Shane Long & Fraser Forster plus Jack Stephens on loan to Bournemouth, Redmond alongside James Ward Prowse are currently the only members of the 18 man squad on duty at Wembley for the final .

We can all point to matches where Redmond was virtually unplayable, and even became a game changer, but sadly those occasions were too few and far between. Ralph has tried playing him in a number of positions in the last year or so, but few of them have worked to his advantage. It's clear that a big wage-earner with a year left on his contract (also like Walcott) has no real future at this club. We know that at this level a player's career can be quite short, and I'm sure he's got a few good years left in him .. IF he gets to the right club who can exploit his skill and talent. In that respect I wish him well, and will hopefully remember those games where he did shine and show up to his best.

Inconsistent but no way was he remotely close to bad enough to merit the negativity he's been on the receiving end of at times. Wish him luck.

A chicken going to Turkey - sounds appropriate. Never seen any other player bottle numerous potential heavy tackles. Nathan has skill but, only showed occasional glimpses and seemed to be a serial moaner on the pich.

A good servant to us and I still believe there is a better player in there than the one we only saw in flashes. Hope he finds his way and is a major success!

Completely agree with JGH. The comment from permanent ray of sunshine halftimeorange sums up the awful negativity that Redmond’s faced. For me he’s more often than not been our most exciting player. I wish him well.

It's often easy to make cheap jibes about out of favour players, and I've been guilty of that I'll admit, but Redmond is a decent player at a club which is evolving beyond his ability to compete for game time. I hope he can take the opportunity of a move to Besikstas and establish himself as a regular pick for the team. I think I'm right in saying Dele Alli moved to Besikstas from Everton, if so, they could be quite a handful for defences if they get their respective acts together.

Sorry to see him go but football careers are short. He was a bit of a whiner when he joined us but that ended several years ago. Frequently ran himself into the ground during Ralph's earlier years and unlike Shane Long wasn't substituted after half time. This meant his performances suffered badly in the second half of games and he was often unfairly picked on for this. Was never quite prolific enough but often picked up assists and turned games. He looked better last season when given a free roaming role. Overall, I thought he was a good player for us during a difficult period. I wish him well in his new challenge.

Good player, but has been playing is a struggling team, which is probablywhy we've seen inconsistency. I wish him well. He's never really let us down.

There are far too many Saints fans who completely refused to give him credit when due .I lost count of the times he started games very well with little appreciation, then 1 mistake and so many individuals around me in the Kingsland would start their abuse and criticism...yes, he could be very frustrating, not taking the responsibility sometimes to do what he does best on a football pitch, especially when isolated with a 1 on 1 situation. Those fans do not deserve the excellent words in his goodbye message to the club and especially the fans....Good luck Nath.

Blogs 31 bloggersKnees-up Mother Brown #19 by wessex_exile February, and the U’s enter the most pivotal month of the season. Six games in just four weeks, with four of them against sides also in the bottom six. By March we should be either well clear of danger, or even deeper in the sh*t. With Danny Cowley’s U’s still unbeaten, and looking stronger game on game, I’m sure it’ll be the former, but first we have to do our bit to consign Steve ‘Sour Grapes’ Cotterill’s FGR back to non-league. After our shambolic 5-0 defeat at New Lawn, nothing would give me greater pleasure, even if it meant losing one of my closest awaydays in the process. What’s the excuse going to be today Steve – shocking pitch, faking head injuries, Mexican banditry or some other bit of sour-grapery bullsh*t? Brentford Polls |
