The Beatles were a bit crap...

The Bay City Rollers record sales suggest that they were not crap!

Different eras, Heartbreak Hotel, In My Life, Shang -A-Lang, Like A Virgin, Park Life.

Fuller’s demise?
at 13:35 6 Mar 2025

I struggle to think of an ale that tastes the same now as when I was in my yoof. Takeovers, mergers, moving of breweries and closures. Only the name remains the same.

My local was a Fullers pub surrounded by other Fullers pubs but I preferred Youngs with the Coach and Horses in Isleworth being the nearest. The Special was special and Winter Warmer delicious.

Today's Special is ok as is the HSB but not the same.

There probably isn't one, it's down to our own personal taste.

You taste food or beer and like or dislike it, you hear music and the same applies.

Yet another musical star has left us, vibraphone player Roy Ayers. Rest In Peace Roy and thank you.

A few of my favourites.

I think the problem with Yesterday is that we have simply heard it too much over the years, not only The Beatles recording but the endless covers over the years.

Can’t deny it’s a great song but I would be happy to never hear it again.

Sir George did a lot of arranging for The Beatles. A huge influence on the band, channeling and focusing all that energy and creativity. You can hear the bands progression with each album.

As for The Beatles being a bit crap, well they were knocking out two albums a year in those early years, making films, touring, so we can forgive an occasional dodgy track. I always took What Goes On as a vehicle for the Ringo fans as Act Naturally was.

Stories emerged over the years of certain Beatles not liking certain songs. For instance both Paul and John loathed I'm Happy Just To Dance With You and neither wanted to record the vocal for it which is why George ended up doing it.

As I said in the match thread, with Field on the pitch it's likely that Sheffield United don't score their second goal. We will miss him.

Blades' cutting edge too sharp for Rangers' toil and chug - Report

Dunne and Paal to blame as well, neither shouted KEEPERS it seems, not that they should have to in that situation.

Two defenders, a keeper and Brereton still managed to score, awful goal to concede. I think Clive let them off too easily in his report, lol.

My gamble would be bigger than that. Trump is really only interested in the improvement of America which is why he doesn’t want to pump billions more dollars in to the war. I see his point and wish that Starmer would to. If everyone kept funding this war in two years’ time, I don’t suppose that the frontline will have moved that far but there would be thousands more dead and injured. The sooner this war ends the better for all concerned including us. Every pound the UK gives Ukraine is borrowed. Let Trump and Putin both claim victory.

Unfortunately, I cannot see an end to the war without Russia making territorial gains. Initially Putin will obviously ask for way too much territory but Ukraine will have to concede enough to save Putin’s face. What has already been won is ravaged by war. I know that this is fundamentally wrong, conceding to the aggressor, the bully, but currently I don’t see any other way.

My gamble would be to keep Putin quiet. Unfortunately, he is only 72 years old and is in power for another eleven years. My gamble would be to look beyond Putin, hope that his successor was more reasonable, forward thinking and not expansionist. Pray that Putin's eleven year tenure is cut short somehow.

No doubt been mentioned before but I just finished Mr Mercedes on Prime. Great stuff.

Kate Mulgrew, Captain Kathryn Janeway, plays a very different role in Series 3!

Andy Sinton spot on. He had time to get control of the ball, set himself and get his shot away.

Can’t help but think with Sam Field on the pitch that goal isn’t happening.

Dunne and Paal looked to have lost the stadium let alone a player.

A floated ball on to the six yard line is the keepers ball all season long.

Seriously, you would struggle to see a worse goal conceded in professional football than that.

Thanks for this, I was not aware of it. To me it sounds more early Wings than Beatles!

As for a favourite Beatles track, well i have at least eight tracks a week. However I will offer up some early George

All guess work at the moment as we don't know how things will pan out.

It is however highly likely that the Ukraine will lose more territory to Russia and as you say if he gets away with that then Putin will start looking at other countries.

China could easily start the same with Taiwan and The Philippines.

Such a shame that what Mikhail Gorbachev started has been all but lost, Putin has put Russia back in to a cold war. Russia is a huge country with a large population and many natural resources. It really should be competing with China on the world manufacturing and economic stage rather than concern itself with expansion.
