| Forum Thread | Coleman is not responsible for Saturday's poor attendance at 21:41 10 Dec 2012
Pick from a list any of the following well cited reasons: (a) Terrible Commercial department at the club (b) Failing to do any work in building the fanbase during the Hilly goodtimes (c) Xmas shopping (d) Disillusionment with the fanbase following relegation (e) Doubledip recession etc etc ... BUT in no way is Coleman responsible for 1,700 fans at home. Attendances have been lower and falling all year, but they always fall in the run up to Christmas (unless we've built a Cup run - good luck to anyone that tries to remember one of those!) |
| Forum Thread | Oldham game - Worried already! at 13:23 12 Mar 2012
I was overall delighted with the result on Saturday but disappointed with the second half tactics and performance. It is the first time I have found myself questionning Coleman's thinking. On Saturday I think we need to be more positive from the outset and for that reason I am praying JLAA is fit and he comes in to replace Jordan. Even if JLAA isn't fit I would bring Adams back into the side. I really hope that crowd come to the stadium prepared to make some noise on Saturday. I'm worried that the match being all-ticket, that the home attendance will be sparse and crowd flat - if Coleman sets us up as we did vs Hudds (without an attacking outlet other than Symes) then we could see ourselves out of it by HT with bad vibes coming from the stands. Will there be an Observer promotion on tomorrow? - with the box office number for tickets??! There should be a rallying cry coming from the club by now - full page advertisment isn't too much to ask is it?! If there isn't, it is a disgrace and once again certain members of the club backroom staff will have let the club (and the town) down for not forcing the issue. I'd also like to see a last minute fans poster campaign like the good old days. Massive game and a must win game for us on Saturday. In my opinion, if we lose this one we're dead and buried. I might seem negative or just a bit of a worrier on this thread, but come Saturday I'll be spilling my guts out trying to get behind the team. I just hope there will be a few more like me in the stands and a team who go for it from the off! |
| Forum Thread | All ticket games at 11:12 4 Mar 2012
Oldham and Sheff United. It would be nice to try and get a few more in for these games - disappointing but expected low home attendance yesterday. It costs £600 for a space for 7 days in Rochdale exchange. http://www.forumcentrespace.com/pdfs/Rochdale%20Exchange,%20Rochdale.pdf We have already spent money on a new Desmond the dragon so lets use him. Logically that means employing 2 people for 7 days at minimum wage to try and pester people into buying tickets Which means we'd have to have a good supply of pre-printed tickets at the stand ready to give people (I'm not suggesting we buy costly mobile ticket printing equipment but I think that should be considered for the future) These thoughts bring up two questions for me. Would anyone in Rochdale be tempted to by one? I think we'd have to reduce the cost anywhere in the ground to £15 for adults and £5 for kids. I appreciate that would mean making arrangements for those already with tickets obtaining a partial refund. This could be done in a form of credit on a later fixture such as the Exeter or MK games. The second question is is the Exchange good value for money - is it worth it? Are there alternative locations? I think the busiest places in Rochdale are the supermarkets! When you weight in the initial investment in a sales stand you have to consider whether this is something we would want to do before every all ticket game to try and boost those attendances/run promotions at the same time. Once you've got the stand you just need to reinvest in the poster a couple of times per year... http://www.printdesigns.com/outdoor-banner-stands/79-blizzard-banner-stand.html I know we've been here before and most will be sick of these type of ideas but it seems logical to start combining all ticket matches with match promotions and tickets available in Rochdale town centre rather than just the ticket office. Something to think about anyway. |
| Forum Thread | Injury Update/Rumours? at 14:00 2 Mar 2012
Kev A? Is he out? Or might he make it?! Morphine patches and a late fitness test anyone? I'll take even the smallest glimmer of hope. Someone's got to try and keep SuperChrisO'Grady from pummelling Holden into the Spotland turf. JLAA as well?... |

Quality fans... 2-1 up now! You've Got to love the dutch sense of humor as well "There's only one Luis Suarez!", "Who the fuk are Man United?.." etc! I also liked "We love you Ajax, we do" in a big faaaat dutch accent... Come on Ajax! Now where's that mute button. I'm getting a headache. |
| Forum Thread | Black and Blue at 20:41 2 Feb 2012
Quick Poll: Yes to stripes next season or No? My opinion and my message to the club is please please please choose a blue and black striped shirt for next season. As it seems we're going to have new shirts again please do not miss the opportunity to return to our popular inter-esq colours! My opinion is we should never have gone to "pinstripes" this year and we should have our stripes. FOREVER ... My argument is look at Newcastle, Southampton, or even other distinctive patterns like Blackburn! Distinctive kits make a football brand marketable and create a sense of identity for young fans. Everyone loved the centenary shirt but blue is our colour and the nike blue and black kit is my favourite ever (and the last one I bought) We didn't just stumble on the stripes - they are an amalgamation our traditions and reticent of our recent successes. Plus I just want a new blue and black shirt! Bring back the stripes! So a Poll: Yes to stripes or No? |
| Forum Thread | Loan Rules Anyone? at 19:14 2 Jan 2012
I know next to nothing about the loan rules and in Beechy's Beeb interview he admits to not knowing (or at least not having a detailed understanding of) the rules either. Anyone know how many loan players we can take in a season and how the "emergency" loan deals work? Bogdanovic has apparently come in as an "emergency loan". I would assume we will be moving heaven and earth to extend that deal if Danny can keep up the same level as today. How does that work? Suddenly seems rather pertinent as we now have a rather large squad, our own players out on loan (i.e. Trottman) and we are looking to bring in more new faces. |
| Forum Thread | Mr nice guy at 21:26 19 Dec 2011
Anyone that doubts Steve Eyre is anything other than a nice bloke needs to listen to that GMR interview; Magnaminous, humble and honest. Just been sacked and absolutely no sign of even the smallest chip on his shoulder. Sorry that nice guys sometimes finish last, hope that he achieves success somewhere else. All the best to Steve and Frank. Thanks for the hard work Steve and good luck in your next job in football. http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/16250270.stm |
| Forum Thread | Adams improvement at 21:29 14 Aug 2011
Just wanted to say that Nicky really impressed me yesterday with his touch, passing, crosses and hard work down the left. Very deserved MOM performance and I hope whatever he has been taking, he keeps taking it! Maintained his peformance for a whole 90 minutes for the first time since I have been watching him in Dale colours. Anyone else notice this? Keep em coming Nicky. |
| Forum Thread | Bryan Robson at 20:20 18 Jul 2011
Oh dear. Anyone watchin "How to buy a football club" on C4? Mr Robson caught committing career suicide (again) on hidden camera. Why would he get involved with these spurious people? |
| Forum Thread | Favourite Hilly Quotes at 14:14 8 May 2011
Having sat with a big smile on my face listening to Hilly's recent BBC interview (see other thread), it got me thinking - what are everybody's favourite Hilly quotes, comments or phrases? Mine is (after promotion game) "If we don't catch Notts County this season the tax man will"!! |
| Forum Thread | England Tonight at 20:11 12 Oct 2010
Have you ever seen such a miserable bunch of players for the national anthem?! Heard that the German coach at the world cup made all his players at least learn the words to encourage them to sing - don't know if I'd go so far but Jesus Stevey, Wayne, crack a smile eh?! Anyway, most looking forward to seeing Crouch in an England shirt tonight. |

Good to see a Dale lad doing so well, here's hoping he can manage to keep it in single figures... Good luck Matt. |
