Trust statement

Many thanks for the update Judd.

Last Saturday, with our largest stand closed, a sparse crowd, a bog of a pitch made how far we had fallen, seam so real.

Something needed to happen.

I trust The Trust and if they are happy, so am I.

Fingers crossed.

The Dale Cooperative
at 12:09 4 Jan 2024

https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rochdale_Society_of_Equitable_Pioneers

As happened in our town over 175 years ago, is this now what our beloved club needs? A group of like minded people to buy then donate a small amount of shares or their share holding into one pot to create ‘The Dale Cooperative?

We have a vast amount of expertise in our fanbase and a willingness to help improve our clubs finances and between us we need to figure out a way to make this happen. I’d see this as a fund raising arm of the football club, to assist the club where possible, but to also be able to step in should the worst happen.

I would hope that the Cooperative could work with the BoD and Dale Trust for the benefit of the club, but also to gain enough shares to help to protect our club, then to have a bigger say in the future of our club. The Trust do wonderful things, but I feel that we now need something more to help them save our club.

Also on a separate thread I saw how it was suggested that opening the club less may help, my personal opinion is that we need to do the exact opposite, we need the clubs various facilities to be utilised everyday. We do however need to reduce our staff costs, maybe the cooperative would take over the club shop/lotteries and refreshment kiosks.

My final thought which would perhaps help us recreate the successful Stockport model of getting people into the ground (fill the Wilbutts), is linked to some kind fans offering to pay more for a season ticket, would the club consider offering a community season for say £25/50 where fans could buy one of these and they would pay for free tickets for the community/school kids/local teams etc?

I’m sure the more articulate of you and those with more business acumen could expand on these thoughts/ideas, I just think we need to try something and would happily do what I can to help.

Oldham Thread
at 19:50 21 Oct 2023

But not the ones who were with an Ex Employee of the club, which lead to the trouble in the Pearl St end.

Spoke to one steward at half time who obviously didn’t have a clue what I was saying.

Then a more senior steward who said ‘I’m an Oldham fan and I know the ex employee. He said that he will get the cameras on that area in the second half.

When they scored their second goal, most of that row jumped up, I tried to shout the steward and draw the attention of the people supposedly watching the camera.

When the third went in and an incident occurred, after surrounding fans attempting to call the stewards, the senior steward went to the ex employee and said, they can’t stay here!

Today reminded me of the Wrexham game in the 80’s.

Very sad.

On the match, for a defender to be manager and defend as we do is ridiculous.

I would imagine that they are following the Glazers model at United.

Use the loan to get back any money that they have put into the club, then the club has to repay the loan or lose the ground.

I feel this is the exit plan they have been seeking for a while now.

Very worrying TS.

For our recent history read the ‘Tomorrow can’t come quick enough thread’.

How we laughed at them doing nothing!

At least they ‘enjoyed the ride’, we are enduring death by a thousand cuts.

If there are bacon butties at the EGM and free pies at Hartlepool, then it really is over.

AFC bury FC are probably ahead of us at the minute, as they are at least coming out of the other side.

Now that is worrying.

Planning for D day v Waiting for D day!
at 19:45 30 Jul 2023

With the developments over the last few days (even perhaps the last few years), I have never benn more certain than within the next few years, we will be asking our wonderful Dale Trust, to take over our beloved Dale.

I suppose the question that I am asking is, do we wait for this, or can we plan for this?

If fans could commit even £10/week, could this money be banked for ‘D day’ or would it have to be earmarked for shares?

As the major shareholder in the club, I would hope that some sort of ‘emergency fund’, could be built.

The comfort of ‘The Rochdale Division’, ‘A well run community club’ and now ‘we own our own ground’ is all sadly about to disappear.

I’ll, contribute what I can, but would like to know the best difference that I can make.

Neville Neville somehow convinced Forever Bury to give their shares to their ‘saviour’ Stewie Day!

I am not a shareholder, I could have done much better supporting our Trust, but will pledge to do so, especially with regard to The Trust running our club.

All the efforts seem to have gone from Saving the Shakers, to how many Plymouth away games can we get to!!!

Strange, very strange.

We didn't plan to get Hilly when he was given the job first time around, lets at least give the board time to see who applies.

On a separate note, Hilly and Flicker don't seem as close as the once were, I expected a couple of ' When I spoke to Hilly' from Flickers, although he was very complimentary.

Jonah with an experienced mentor such as Ronnie Moore or Steve Parkin (if it went tits up at Bolton) would certainly bring a bit of drive and pride back in to the club.

Could the board have found out that he has been speaking to Bradford?

Sacked due to Gross misconduct? No pay off? No compo for Bradford to pay?

The interview Saturday night shows that Hill didn't want to be here and was shooting from the hip knowing it would be his last game!

Relagation Clause
at 09:23 4 Mar 2019

I think he was a good mam manager, so many players have said as much over the years.

This year is the first time I can recall any player unrest, certainly made public unrest.

I don't think anyone could possibly say that KH is steering a happy ship atm.

Relagation Clause
at 13:12 3 Mar 2019

As most players have a relegation clause in their contracts, will Hill have the same?

I feel that most fans accept that we are gong down and with our current squad, Fergie in his pomp couldn't keep us up. With that in mind do we sit tight and hope that one of the following happens :-

1) Someone comes in for Hill during the summer.

2) Hill regains his mojo and turns it around in L2 as Lowe has at Bury.

3) If his wage is reduced because of relegation, wait until Pre Season and pay him off then?

I think we'd all love to get our Hilly back, but if he is now broken, do we just wait and see what the next few months bring?

To be fair, they could have been filed on time, it often takes the Companies House website 7 days to update.

Although I think KH has done a shocking job over the past two years, He is entitled to every penny on the contract that was offered and agreed in good faith.

I also think its unfair to criticise him for trying to better himself, in a higher division, he earned that right.

Whatever happens, we don't have to character assassinate our most successful manager.

The Bigger Cost?
at 11:25 22 Feb 2019

Our squad has probably had around 8 players to many all season. if those 8 players are on an average of a grand a week, that's £400K wasted this year.

Five days off rather than working on the training pitch to learn how to defend are both decisions made by Keith Hill!

A new manager would more than likely put some work in on the training pitch, that is something that a new manager would offer, that we don't have at present.

Do we let KH waste £400K a year, for the next 3 years?

On top of this, how many fans are we going to lose because they can no longer listen to his rubbish or watch the most boring football we have played this century.

I would love KH to get his mojo back, but if he cant, then the bigger cost is to keep Keith Hill I'm afraid.

That sentence sums up everything that's wrong at the club.

Hill could have had 3 days practicing 'shape' and defensive responsibilities to help us get out of this mess, but no, all have 5 days off lads!

He simply isn't arsed any more, yet the board do nothing.
