This is spot on in my opinion. Although I would just go as far as to say, every team needs at least three really quality players to survive. You need (an Ings in his day, a Le Tissier, a Lambert, a Pelle, a Tadic, Van D!ck). You need match winners. Even Ward-prowse scored winning free kicks. We just don't have anyone who can put one in from 30 yards or put one in at all! We don't have any real quality. We again did exactly as what we did the last time we were relgated. We have bought a load of championship players and not one is premier league quality (Ramsdale aside). Not one is a world class experienced match winner. Why didn't we just save the 100 million plus we have spent on ten players and just buy three amazing players instead? I know why, because we won't pay the wages that come with it. I will say again, the same thing I said when we were relegated, is that this club won't get anywhere until these owners are removed. Protest, don't buy tickets, sing sack the board, make the place toxic and get them out. But all we will do.is just keep asking for a change of manager with the same sh!t squad and unambitious owners. It's not a big game. We will get destroyed. What fan wants to see their team thrashed? Expecially against that lot. I can't stand seeing and hearing them all celebrate so I won't be paying £30 to witness it. [Post edited 14 Nov 18:57]

And the Premier League is utter sh!t. A bunch of over paid robots trying to play subuteo on a beautiful pitch with VAR watching and scrutinising every move. It's not football anymore. Such a simple game. The team who scores the most goals wins. Go back 20 to 30 years and teams just wanted to.win and score goals. It's far too over coached and scripted nowadays. I agree but they know they won't get anybody better unless they pay a lot of money and that somebody better probably wouldn't come. And 20 million pounds later, we might still go down. We probably will, it would take a miracle to stay up now with the fixtures we have coming up. |

Won't work. I received an email today to say that as a ST holder I can get up to 4 additional tickets. Plenty will have friends wanting tickets, Saints and Liverpool fans. Tourists will fill the ground if necessary. Tickets will appear online. And as I have said before, there is no appetite to get rid of RM. It would cost 20 million plus to sack him and employ a new one. And they wouldn't want to pay for a decent one, who demands top dollar. The owners are the issue here, always have been. They arnt ambitious, they are taking us down again. The manager is the side show. [Post edited 13 Nov 18:27]

| Forum Reply | Reports that Martin has been sacked! at 20:30 10 Nov 2024
Odds on him being sacked have been frozen. The odds at the bookies have changed dramatically in one day. Maybe because we lost a big game yesterday? There was one twitter post, saying he had been sacked, then a lot of bets starting happening. However, is there something the bookies know that we don't? Is it just rumours that have caused a lot of bets? I can't see any other reports anywhere. [Post edited 10 Nov 20:33]

Totally agree with this. The manager is a side show. Managers come and go, players come and go. But these owners and board have created a sh!t show. They came in, and appointed two terrible manager after Ralph and we went down. We came back up last season, yes but now we are going down again. We haven't invested in the players we need to survive. There isn't any ambition. There isn't any desire to give is a progressive, decent team. I have wanted them out for a long time. Sack the board. |
| Forum Reply | VAR at 10:32 10 Nov 2024
Our poor results is another discussion but those decisions yesterday are a disgrace. All three pundits on MOTD agreed. Our goal should have stood. At 1-1, their fans on their back, it's a different game. We were poor yesterday yes, but also cheated. Their second goal was also a fould on our player and VAR didn't intervene! So they intervene for a non foul, and don't intervene for a foul. Utter disgrace. So basically, the correct decison on the pitch is turned into the WRONG decision by VAR. And the wrong decision on the pitch is not turned into the right decison by VAR. So it's pure CHEATING right? Hate VAR, hate the Premier League. |

We'll be relegated anyway. Liverpool, Brighton, Chelsea, Villa, Spurs next, we won't be getting any points at all, regardless. Those are some of the best sides in the league. No manager in his right mind would come in with those fixtures and a likely relegation on his cv. [Post edited 9 Nov 20:09]

I also cannot stand watching Liverpool. I can't stand being around plastics from Dorset. I can't stand witnessing stewards do nothing as plastics walk in with Liverpool shirts on. I can't stand then being beaten by them, which is the likely outcome. It's just before Christmas. I don't actually think £30 is too bad for a quarter final. But I hate watching Liverpool. Hate seeing them celebrate they are so arrogant and in your face. Can't stand them. [Post edited 8 Nov 21:43]

It will be interesting to see what happens with the wars, now Trump has been elected. The wars currently happening, weren't happening when he was last in the Whitehouse. I think it will be interesting watching from afar personally. |
| Forum Reply | US Election at 18:33 6 Nov 2024
I'm no Trump fan, but why has he been elected back in? He talks about America first. His country takes precedence over anything else. Many Americans like that. Russia didn't invade Ukraine during his presidency. North Korea was kept under control. The war in Israel hadn't escalated until Trump had left office. Some.Americans being interviewed stated how they couldnt imagine Harris in a room with Putin telling him what to do and him listening. But Trump would be listened to. He would push the button. The world is wary of him. And people have their own minds. However he is portrayed, some people like him in America. The American gun owners, living in a free America, where people aren't dictated to by the state, goes down well in some quarters. [Post edited 6 Nov 18:35]

Ramsdale was excellent today and made some crucial saves. He looked so commanding and confident today. Fernandes is a brilliant little player. He goes forward with speed, tenacity and skill. He is going to be some player. Bednerak was also excellent today I thought. We struggled up front, it is such a struggle to score, but good old Adam Armstrong can always be relied on in big games. We were more compact today and it definitely helped defensively. We were very cautious, but really pushed in the final quarter and got the goal. Great win. Another big game next week. | Forum Reply | RM has managed to squeeze his favourites into the team against Everton at 18:11 2 Nov 2024
And everyone needs to hold their nerve. RM took us up last season. Win at Wolves and things are looking a lot rosier. Sacking the manager can cause more harm than good with upheaval and too much change. The players areplaying for this manager. It came good today. Indeed enjoy a drink or three. He is not good enough defensively. Most of our players aren't good enough. It's almost impossible to win games when our players just arnt as good as the opposition. |

All comes back to the fact that we need the top 6 to f@ck off to their super league. The other clubs are desperately trying to remain competitive in a sh!t league so also put the prices up. And even clubs like Saints, know that tourists will buy up the tickets for the big games if Saints fans don't. The top 6 know that tourists will pay £80 for a ticket, so of course they charge it. |

Yes, people should be more responsible, less selfish, less reliant on the state, more resilient. That's a different conversation about how to go about that. But older people often don't have friends and relatives to help. If they have children, they are probably working every day and might not have a spare room and time or can afford to have days off to look after their parents or can afford private care. People are living longer, and therefore require more care. You can't leave people to suffer, so the state intervenes. This costs money. If someone is suffering, and is ill, very old, a child or , mentally ill, the state should intervene. How we bring down these numbers of people needing help is another conversation. More and more people are having children and don't know how to parent. Yes, tackle that but not a clue how, because again you can't leave a child being beaten up or suffering. More and more money is needed because it seems to be more common with record numbers of children needing care. Stop the bad parenting is the answer but how do you do that? [Post edited 1 Nov 15:02]

Send all the over the 65's to Scotland, ha. This is the government bus to the mountains, fend for yourselves. Visions of 90 year olds in the snow with their walking aids and wooly hats, whilst the young and the rich live in mansions with their low taxes and cavier on tap. You're absolutely right, that some old people don't have family members and /or don't have family members who are willing to help. You can't leave old people suffering, he is clearly on the wind up. Many older people end up taking up beds in hospitals because they have nowhere else to go. This is because social care doesn't have the resources to cope with the demand. Same with mental health. A patient with mental health issues, who just needs some support, ends up in hospital. [Post edited 1 Nov 14:37]
