| Forum Reply | Good game on SKY now at 21:32 23 Jan 2025
Same here I went to all 3 games, Wrexham now though are everything that is wrong with football, they have spent most of their existence in the lower leagues in front of small crowds for good reason, ie that it is a small town with not that much of a catchment area around the town either. Add to that, that most of them follow Liverpool, Everton or United. Now they are pawns in a rich mans plaything, at some stage it will all go wrong |

As a general reply across most of the posts on this thread, I can see all points, but it doesn't mean I agree with them, doesn't mean I am right and doesn't mean they are right. Ultimately going to football is about enjoyment and if you are not enjoying it, then don't bother going, I can see the point and Im not slagging people who choose that route. But it isn't my route, I will continue to go through thick and thin, it's what I do, it's what defines me, it's what I have done for the last 53 years and 1 week of my life, it's my choice I respect other peoples choices. For probably around 2/3's of our home support, that is pretty much the case as well if we use the historical evidence of our crowds over the last 24 years since we first opened St Mary's. Most of the people who I go to football with are similar to me, they might storm out early sometimes, but they are there next week, they will renew their season tickets no matter what division we are in, it's what they do. Am I not happy with how the owners have run the club, but not all of what they have done has been bad and some of it hasn't been of their own making, so if I disagree with the owners, I have two choices, I either keep going or I protest, or I do both as I did back in 1993. But I do not see protest now, I saw it 20 odd years ago under Rupert Lowe, I even saw it 16 years ago as we went into administration. But I see absolutely no protest at all against the club owners now, moaning about Sport Republic on social media is not protest, if you want to see Protest, see what the hated Scousers both Liverpool & Everton have done in recent years, likewise Arsenal, Chelsea & Spurs, even West Ham, they have organised supporters associations and get out and show their protest at the games. As I have said before all that it takes for evil to prosper is for good men to do nothing, all of those stopping going are good men (yes and women), but are they helping Southampton FC in it's current predicament ? I would say no, but that doesn't make them bad people, it just makes good people doing nothing. I have picked and chose my words here as I don't want to offend any people who read this who I regard as friends, I don't slag them off for not goin,g I just see Southampton FC differently to them sometimes |

So let me get this right, people are moaning all over the place about being charged £20 to watch the cup tie, but on the other hand are perfectly happy to not turn up and throw away £30 + if their ticket is not sold on the ticket exchange |
| Forum Thread | Newcastle Ticket Exchange at 09:11 22 Jan 2025
The game is all sold out and the ticket exchange open,as of this morning there are approximately 250 tickets listed for sale, thats a lot of people who cant be bothered going, no real excuses on this one, Saturday 3pm kick off and against a team that looking to get into the top 4 |
| Forum Thread | Denis Law at 09:03 22 Jan 2025
I was very sad to hear of his death, played in the first Saints match I saw live, January 15th at the Dell in the FA Cup 3rd round against Man Utd, exactly 53 years and 1 week ago today. Back then 30,190 packed the Dell for a 1-1 draw, United had Denis Law, George Best & Bobby Charlton in the side, so understandably they were still a big draw. Mind you Saints had Mick Channon, Ron Davies & Terry Paine, so we had our own Holy Trinity on show Law & Best didn't score but Bobby Charlton did in a 1-1 draw Law's career started before i was born and was at it's peak before I watched my first match, but he was a genuine legend who crossed the divide of all football fans, even those that didn't support the teams he played for. |

I removed this thread because I was requested to do so by the original poster, I didn't apply any criteria to the removal of the thread, whether the person asking was in the right or wrong, I was asked to remove it so did so. This site remains a bastion of free speech, very few threads or posts are removed, even if I totally disagree with them, but if someone requests something they posted to be removed, then I usually do so and in this case as it was the original post in the thread, that meant the whole thread went as well. You are of course free to start threads of your own and if someone who was not you asked for it to be removed then I would look at it from the perspective of have the boundaries been crossed in terms of racism, homophobia etc been crossed, if not have any of the posts been aggressive & abusive to others, if not then a thread would usually remain, it would not be removed just because someone disagreed with the opinions of others. |

There home support was good, but you would expect it to be, after 30 years of being outside the top flight they are going through their best couple of years since then. It seems to be a midlands thing to be vile, maybe they have a complex as they are neither North or South |

Stamford Bridge was a soul less bowl up to the early 1990,s the wind blew through it and the fans were far away from the pitch aside from the then new, now old stand |

The views of the pitch are awful in the lower tier |
| Forum Thread | 5 Things About Nottingham Forest at 12:48 21 Jan 2025
1, The Mullof Kintyre thing at the start of each half is impressive, but the support dies a bid at times during the game. 2, Why do they market it as "The World Famous City Ground" it's not even in the City and not even in Nottingham to be pedantic, I have never seen it as World Famous. 3. Why were the Forest fans so nasty, most of their songs seemed to be aimed at us either going down with Leicester or saying hello to Derby for them. 4. Car parks seemed to be in short supply, but you could park near the ground and loads of cars seemed to be parked on the pavement and double yellow lines without getting a ticket. 5. As I said it isn't even in Nottingham it is in the town of West Bridgford which is a seperate unitary authority than Nottingham |

This might just be part of the process, most players get turned down at the first time of asking, unless they have enough points , which basically mean you have to be truly top notch and then get through at the second or even third time of asking.
