This may seem petty and insignificant with all that's going on at the moment, but it is perhaps indicative of the cba malaise which seems to have pervaded the club over recent weeks. Driving past a certain notice board this lunchtime ( the one near to the large notice inviting people to come and see what they are missing) it was more than disappointing to be told that the next match was against Wimbledon a week ago! I was under the impression that this had been raised with the club and that this was being addressed. If nothing else it gives such an amateurish impression to anyone going along Sandy Lane.
Tonight were buzzing. Today was a fantastic performance from a group of players who put their heart and sole into the match, but I wonder. Just how many people who came to the COA today will be back on Wednesday.
One could not have asked for better effort and excitement from a match but how will that translate into repeat attendance?
I promise I'm not "doing a Milly" but at present I'm part way through a tour of New Zealand. Had to get up at 3.45 a.m. Sunday to listen to the match!!
I've just got back to the room after sharing a swimming bath and sauna with half of the NZ football team who are staying at the same hotel.
For those of you who remember him we got chatting about Leo Bertos and they seemed to think he is now playing in the Northern New South Wales league in Australia.
I remember him scoring a cracking break away goal at Kidderminster to help keep us away from the bottom of league 2.
I've just purchased 2 car washes and I'm looking for 5 hard working people who will be eternally grateful to me for providing them with employment so that they will be able to save up for the family holiday at Skegness.
I'll be paying £10 , a bag of crisps and 2 pickled onions an hour as long as each worker can wash 259 cars every 15 minutes.
I know that this fantastic offer will attract a big response but don't send your CV just yet as I'm on holiday in Timbuktu . We stay in the air conditioned tents which only the effluent (sorry affluent) people can afford. Whilst we are out here though we only use top of the range camels.
Send your details in two weeks time but window cleaners and builders need not apply as the quantity of associated bullshit could drown out all other applicants.
I already know what a wonderful altruistic person I am for giving you this wonderful opportunity to drag yourselves out of the gutter but there is really no need to shower me with thanks or with admiration of my obvious conspicuous wealth.
