Its with great Sadness to announce the passing of Rochdale fan Mark Warburton. Mark was a Dale fan all his life and loved everything Dale. Mark lived on Woodstock Street near to the ground. I have been asked to post this on here by family/friends of Mark.

Don't do these threads usually, but Warby lives on the same street as me. To say its a shock is an understatement. Every time I bumped into him (walking his dog usually) I always reminded him that it was his fault that I'm a Dale fan, as it was him who convinced me to go to dale. I used to walk to school with him and after constant nagging he finally broke me down and the rest is history.
Top bloke, and that really doesn't do him justice.

Was a really pleasant, polite, friendly man that you could only have good things to say about him, he will be missed by many and if hes ever looking down on us then he will know that he is highly thought of, so shocked to hear this news he was always talking about the dale, RIP buddy | |

Shocked to hear such sad news
Mark was such a great guy and i always enjoyed talking 'Dale' with him and listening to his views on a game.
I vividly remember embracing him after the final whistle versus Northampton when promotion was achieved and how Mark was in tears at seeing his team promoted.

Just think I've realised who Mark was. As someone else put, one of those 'Dale faces' that you've seen around for years.

For those that knew Mark, his funeral will be held at Rochdale Crematorium on Wednesday 24th October 13:00.
