Sooner its sorted the better. One less reason to see his smarmy smile in the news.

Were Southampton told get this settled with Martin or you are not having Wood?

I flagged this up yesterday. No threats no bad words just sensible business people being reasonable and making agreements over coffee and biscuits.

What a pity they weren't sensible and reasonable right from the beginning.

What are your figures? You do not even know how much has been paid for Wood nor the add ons. England caps appearances, sell on clauses.

They appear to have got Β£1.4m for the Β£2m claimed. Many fans on here thought it was a waste of time.

The whole package was acceptable..

One does wonder why we couldn't have met halfway 12 months ago. Instead of giving it the big "we are going for what we feel we are owed".

No it was Β£2m and the Wood fee Β£400k less.

That would.mean giving Middlesbrough less of the percentage fee.

Info we have / had mate is the demand was 2m from the swans. They had 1.2m last season leaving 800k to fight for. Settled today for 400k.

Wood transfer is completely separate as per the report πŸ‘

Yep read the report.

Our "negotiators" should have been smarter, legally of course.

Β£400k extra in one pot Β£400k less in another.I

A few extra pounds that wouldn't be going to Boro'

Ah, I see your point mate.

The negotiation structure I suppose will never be known. The Swans have got some pretty good add ons, but can’t find out what they are. But of course Wood will have to do very well for them to be financially beneficial.

Funny how some players apparently won't play for Martin and others will play for nobody else.
