How does it feel to be wrong about absolutely everything? Do you feel let down? Will you put more cognition in to your decision making in future, or will you just double down and at least be happy when you take the rest of us down with all your sort? What’s your thoughts?

dgt73, Felix….. on 22:07 - Oct 14 by JACKMANANDBOY | Today and MP was being interviewed by the BBC on the current economic challenges, he was obviously out of his depth. I looked up his CV. Age 44 First Job aged 21 Research Officer for a Political Party Second Job Election Campaign Officer for a Political Party Third Job Junior Political Secretary for a Political Party Fourth Job Political Secretary for a Political Party Fifth Job Party Relations for a Political Party Sixth Job Elected as MP into a safe seat This guy is an adminstrator who built a network within a political party that enabled him to get nominated for a safe seat. He has had no strategic responsibility in his life. |
The same with a lot of Labour MPs only jobs they ever had was as a union representative. We need more MPs who had a decent career in a proper job before they become MPs.

To be fair, I can't see Truss making Christmas. Possible general election to start 2023 off? Its quite unbelievable that Truss is somehow making Johnson look even mildly competent. Would he be their next candidate, not sure their ranks have got much to offer.

Unfortunately, Labour won’t be making the decision which in my opinion is the only way that scenario could happen. A GE now regardless of who was in charge would mean a huge defeat for the Tories. They’ve got 18 months whatever to win the electorate around. Tall order I agree but better than going early. Now that I’ve made that bold statement, watch them call one tomorrow😂

I'm not so sure, if they stay in they have to fix things and we all know this cabal aren't exactly good at that. Leave now, hand a steaming pile of rubbish onto most likely Labour and then criticise for a couple years. Murdoch press in overdrive, that could well be their (not that id want it) best hope.

dgt73, Felix….. on 22:13 - Oct 14 by Dr_Winston | That too. Maybe a minimum age and career requirement for MP's is needed. At least a ten year work history, preferably with a mix of public and private sector employment involved. |
Any kind of work history outside of politics should be a minimum requirement, and yes 10 years of it. I don't think 44 is too young, as it goes we have too many old people in making decisions, we need a good mix of ages and opinions but they need to know what the real world is like and not be a part of the old school tie, funny handshake brigade who make a lot of decisions based on what is best for their kind.

He remains a liability. His purge of the decent Tories has left us with a bunch of muppets who would struggle to organise a village summer fail. Brexit remains at the heart of this shiteshow. Thats on Johnson. The cheeky fat bloke with funny hair ain’t so funny anymore. It will be even less funny when Starmer gets hold of the Russia report. Jail time.

There’s too much individual personal ambition to allow a sensible strategy like that. Could you see Truss going for it to be the shortest serving PM? She wouldn’t be leading them at the next GE for sure so she’ll hang on for as long as she can.

The amount of goats who cover up stuff this has very little chance of succeeding. MP’s aren’t allowed to be arrested without their knowledge is the starting point.

It’s been done on a previous thread Itch. I had a good (if depressing) back and forth with Loh around how bad things were looking, and Tory actions were indefensible then. It’s got considerably worse since so no surprise that no one has come in to support what’s happening. I can see nationwide collective strikes coming on top of everything else.
