Fans back in October 16:08 - Jul 17 with 2763 views | 1ASIN12 | Reported on the bbc that providing the number of cases keeps falling / still under control then some fans will be allowed in grounds by October. https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/53441670 I would have thought that away fans will be banned (maybe for the whole season) and about a max 50% capacity maybe less? Time will tell how the club will allocate any tickets when the time comes. [Post edited 17 Jul 2020 16:44]

What if there is bad traffic and all the fans arrive at the same time? What if a good number of fans need to use the toilet at the same time? At half time, when everyone mingles, are they going to force you to remain in your seat? Not be allowed to go and get a beer, unless you queue in a social distanced way, one at a time? I suppose you could have only a few thousand in the ground and this would work, but there are about 18 000 season ticket holders!

The bags would certainly be handy to save the desperate rush down the stairs at HT Surely it's got to be all or nothing. Who's going to want to go and just sit there with one of your mates possibly 4 seats away and the other a further 4 away and so on. The whole point of going is for the atmosphere of live football. You can't do it with social distancing

The atmosphere, the chats with football mates, the half time beer, the banter with away fans etc, is the fun of going. Take that all away, and we might as well sit at home. There won't be any point going.

Absolutely, and there would probably be a better atmosphere with no one there. | | | | Login to get fewer ads
Fans back in October on 00:47 - Jul 18 with 2501 views | TimSaint | My mates in Slovakia have been to see Slovan Bratislava play the last 3 games of their season. They consisted of a league game, a cup final and another league game. All 3 took place at their home ground and Slovan did the league and Cup double. Their stadium has an approximate capacity of 23k and for the 3 games, they had a restricted capacity of 12.5k. Fans did not have to wear masks - although some did. The club even sells a variety of official masks apparently. The different is that they only have a population of 5.5m, have so far had shy of 2000 reported cases and only 28 deaths. At least it demonstrates that fans can go back to stadiums, but we are not ready yet. I'm not really expecting to be back in St Mary's until the new year, but remain optimistic and hopeful that it is sooner.

That's like the difference between England and Scotland. 66.6 million in England and 5.2 million in Scotland. It's no wonder they have only had a single fatality in the last week up there.
