Sadly there is truth to this.....We walked into fighting outside The Elm......lots of police ...serious enough for us to jump in the car and get the hell outa dodge....Police seemed to have put theme selves in- between and the road was temp blocked south. Don't know if it was all over in a flash but lots of people were out on the road and a few bits of glass. Isn't the F3K just up the road? Why mess up our good reputation eh! Madness. |

I didn't say that nothing happened, I, along with many others said we didn't see anything happen. I simply said that DYSS was lying about a text saying that there was trouble on the North End Road which he was. I also said that if it had been 'kicking off' there would have been a lot of stuff about it on social media which there wasn't.
You may be OK with a few wind up merchants trying to drag the good name of our club through the mud for absolutely no reason - I am not.
In fact, it struck me yesterday, how good natured it all was, and I thought we'd come a long way when our fans can now happily mingle, have a laugh, share a drink and altogether have a good day out, give great support throughout the match, but just enjoy it all - we're really developing a reputation as a great set of fans now and it's really something to be very proud of. I think so anyway.
That of course doesn't mean that there will be no little rucks - there are little rucks every day of the week in every City - that's not the same is it as 'Swans fans going on the rampage' ? |

As I have said you remind me of a bossy prefect, you make me laugh but I find your effects quite transparent. Like your "I liked Laudrup but" period that not only I have commented on. Interesting how you appeared out of the blue JIT and have not stopped laying down the law about how fans should behave since.
I reported the massed police presence we saw moving up Fulham Palace Road towards the Hammersmith Apollo (escorting a group of people) as a flat fact. But given I saw some of the mobilisation outside the ground it was clear something was going on (even though this was dismissed because you did not have intel). It seems from the reports above that it was sadly related to our fans.
If you are concerned about dragging our clubs good name through the mud perhaps you need to address that one on all fronts. Spreading rumours about our previous manager that are obviously not correct is not a good look for our club. Preventing people reporting things that are actually happening is not a good look for a "fans club" either regardless some may prefer to hide certain aspects.

From the forum it seemed that some of our fans had already made their travel plans before getting the tickets and the increased demand from fair whether supporters left them without tickets. I was lucky and with persistence managed to get some on the Friday.
Perhaps the club need to investigate (as was previously stated on here - and seen by us) why there were some (actually many) people in the away section who were Chelsea / non Swans supporters. Some had actually never heard of Swansea or Wales and had bought their tickets on the internet to see Chelsea (but told us they were now Swansea supporters after we had finished filling them in - not literally - and they had been impressed with our early play). This was not a common area as at Fulham it was the away area. I also saw multiples of away tickets advertised on the internet at highly inflated prices.
The tickets that became available on Friday afternoon to us (none available in the morning) were I understand referred to by Leigh as returns. I understood they would be player or other comp returns as the ticket office made it clear no tickets would be made available through general returns as there is a no return policy for ordinary sales. I was also interested that our ticket office did not have the tickets (although they knew the seats available). The tickets had to be printed off and collected from the TO at Chelsea on the day of the match. I was also interested to note that they were marked Duplicate. This needs looking into as although many of them seemed perfectly nice people it seems unfair that regular Swansea supporters are left without tickets whilst they are sold by whoever received such tickets at a big markup. Any investigation would confirm the details of what occurred and our supporters will be able to disclose at least some of the seats that contained non Swans fans, who probably bought the tickets in good faith - but the source needs to be identified. Especially if potential large scale profiteering led to our fans being unable to attend and potentially ultimately contributed to a large police operation being required. |  | | |

Another mistake by our ticketing department. If consistent mistakes were made in any other business there'd be sackings.
I'm assuming it's either the fault of a senior board member or somebody in a 'jobs for the boys' type role and won't get sacked because they're good mates with someone in the hierarchy. |  |

Last year I believe we took 1500 tickets and we only sold 1009
Any tickets over that 1500 that club are liable for if they are not sold therefore it is perfectly understandable that they didn't ask for the full 3000. | | | |

I din't say there wasn't trouble - I said that I hadn't seen any despite walking up the very road and that any 'rampage' was not reported and it would have been. Everyone else also said the same thing. And by the way - the Fulham Palace Road is no where near where the only actual small amount of trouble appears to have happened. And it can't have lasted long since when I walked past there was no sign of it at all.

And it's not my fault, my problem or anything else that means that the club didn't take up as many tickets as they may have done. I have commented repeatedly and extensively that I disagree with a lot of stuff the club do re tickets - a fact that you ignore. I had a ticket, in fact four tickets, in the Drake Suite and very nice it was too. I am lucky enough to have them every year, since a colleague of mine has four seats in there and always gives them to me for the Swans match. So I didn't take much notice of the tickets on sale from the club to be honest.

Anyone remember the days when Cardiff would go into the away end at the Vetch in case there was any aggro ? [manly in the top division first time round], any Swans fans do the same the other way around ?
I remember Newport v Cardiff when Newport were on the verge of the 2nd tier and well ahead of Cardiff around Easter time when they played at Somerton Park, Newport didn't win a game on their run in and didn't go up [that was the beginning of the end - although I cant say that now as they have eventually got back into the league] Cardiff won most of theirs remaining games and went up, Newport fans were given a hand support wise that day.
Anybody remember Cardiff 3 Chelsea 3 years ago, lot of trouble that day, even in recent times Cardiff went up there in the cup, all the old boys from both sides turned up, it ended up on crimewatch, I think a few faces went down, cc tv has stopped a lot of aggro these days.
So are we talking Swans fans ?, the amount of trouble these days at football is so small since it has become a game for the prawn sandwich brigade, it was a different world in the 70's and 80's. |  |
