Ten days after officiating in the raucous atmosphere of Bradford v Leeds in the Capital One Cup, Graham Scott will probably encounter a more sedate experience when he referees Dale’s first-ever game at Crawley on Saturday.
The Oxford referee is now in his seventh season on the list and this will be only his third Dale game, with the current record standing at a win and a defeat.
We last saw him at Rotherham in the FA Cup nine months ago when Dale recorded a fine 2-1 win and the hosts had a player sent-off.
Prior to that, our only other meeting with Mr Scott was another FA Cup tie, although one with a much worse outcome.
That was at Forest Green in November 2008 when Dale played poorly on a freezing cold day in Gloucestershire to lose 2-0.
Including the game at Bradford last week, Graham has refereed six matches this season, showing 13 yellow cards and one red.
