I spoke to the young lad later on and he said, "I've been coming to forums for a few years now, and on this occasion I became overwhelmed by the top table not bullshitting me with lie after lie like the previous few years. It made me pass out in shock." |

Fantastic news. The last few years have been wearisome and worrying. Thank God they're gone. There's no guarantees the Ogden family will be the second coming but, all of their statements so far are free from the bull shit which usually accompanies takeovers elsewhere that we've seen. There's no bones being thrown to supporters, no confident predictions, no claims to be lifelong fans etc. In fact there is nothing resembling the out and out lies some of our former Directors/employees were guilty of spewing out every time they opened their mouths. Their rhetoric so far has been understated, quietly delivered, and is unflappable and a bit deadpan. You only have to listen to SPO on you tube to quickly ascertain that he's all of the above, measured, and not prone to the sort of extreme mood swings that we'd often associate with football people. A breath of fresh air. |

Given the amount of people who cheered in the Main Stand when our goals went in, there were easily over 1400 Daleys there. Blokes on their sponsor's balcony were going bonkers when we equalised. I've never seen any of them before, anywhere, so they might have been fakes. Interesting to listen to rugby talk in the home stands. Most folk know I think rugby is a shit sport watched by shit people, but the narrative spun by their locals was that Fiji had been denied a Spotland International by our Board. I put them straight, but shit rugby people don't change no matter which county they are from. Still, a good football turnout, better than anything shit rugby could muster. Our Board need to remember it was the fans putting their predecessors under a level of scrutiny which triggered the run of events which ultimately led to them becoming Directors. Not only should they remember, they should be reminded. Every day. |

I think it's incumbent on as many Dale fans as can to turn up. When some fans say they feel out of touch with the club and the hierarchy, they give bullets to be fired at them when events like this aren't supported. Obviously not everyone should come, as I want a good seat and to be served quickly! And the Trust deserve thanks for enabling the game to be shown. |

A great shame. Dale through and through. RIP Mavis |

Excellent game today. Didn't yawn once. It might be a misinterpretation on my part but our energy levels seemed better to the end - in recent seasons we have tapered off towards the end of games often conceding. On the 75 minute mark I thought this would inevitably happen again, but the opposite occurred. Recently Hendo got a little stick on here for being offside (at Kiddy?) which I thought was harsh as we don't see how often he is on-side when making his runs. Not seen the highlights yet, but can't wait to see the timing and bend on his run to enable our late goal. He almost made the pass. I didn't even bother looking at the lino as sometimes you just know class when you see it! |

I think from 1994 through till relatively recently, Dale owned 45% of the Stadium Company which owned the ground. Therefore, I'm not sure how loans were given out 8 times by former Directors to Dale who also put a charge on something they didn't own. I suspect had that been the case, some of us older fans would have been aware of it at the time, especially shareholders, for whom this will be a surprise to hear your allegations in 2023. I'm not saying you're wrong though. In any case, loans from previous Board members were usually recouped from Cup runs, or were converted into shares, or were simply written off. There is an anecdote from the early 2000's when following the cup run that ended at Wolves, the then Chairman was seen treating himself to a takeaway in the confines of a Littleborough takeaway having earlier enjoyed a few pints at The Sun. When questioned about his lavish speculation on a takeaway, he remarked, "I'm feeling flush. I've got the fooking money the fooking club owes me after our fooking cup run!" I doubt the current Chairman would embrace that style about doing things in such a way. He might wish to reconsider. He might also think we won't have another Dawson or a cup run. |

Same here. It's really poor from the club. I've always had every other email due on time. EDIT: Have emailed the COO, but I really shouldn't have to. [Post edited 1 Aug 2023 18:11]

A rollover prize is the biggest con in weekly draws. It's designed never to be won but therefore gives a headline prize when recruiting. As I understand it, there maybe a draw where there are a million unique numbers available for £1 per week. The draw may have 10,000 players per week. Therefore the chances of the jackpot being won are 10,000 in 1,000,000. I'm willing to be corrected if my ancient knowledge has been usurped by that evil modernity! |

I agree with most of that, but you have now said a couple of times that the Trust should run a version of Goldbond. Have you any idea how many hours per week are required by x number of people with expert knowledge of the industry to achieve a successful Weekly Draw? To expect a small group of volunteers to achieve that on a part time basis is extraordinarily naive. Borrowing is not the answer however. The writing was on the wall ages ago in a Christmas message where the Chairman boasted we employed 138 people. Even on wages of £100 per week, that's nearly £0.75m a year. Draw your own conclusions. |

I made the mistake of reading that! Blimey. Millions of words with no obvious outcome. There was, however, a gem hidden in there.... "Events are relatively short and infrequent, taking place for around 3 hours each, on circa 30 occasions per annum." Fook me. That's one hell of a cup run! |

I know I'm a stickler for advertising, and promoting brands etc, but how pissed off would you be if you'd sponsored Willbutts and the welcoming pic has managed to get half of the dual sponsor in the background, denying both exposure? Come on photo taker. Get a fooking grip! There should be Management in place to spot this sort of error. Or even some business acumen. |

They're supposed to be given away in order to advertise fixtures! That's the point! I did the club 5000 (Centenary year perhaps?) and delivered them to the shop early August in time for kick-off. The following February I got a phone call from a then member of staff asking me what they should be doing with 5000 posters in the store room. You couldn't make it up. Needless to say I gave up doing that as well! |

I can indeed! We flogged them for a fiver each on various away ends including Bournemouth one year where the stewards tried to stop us. Simple plan: Sell advertising on each month to cover all production costs. Print 400 and keep flogging them until £2000 profit was reached. After a few years I handed it back to the club with my "business plan" and the commercial department decided instead to outsource the calendars to a printing company rather than put the legwork in to make a few quid.
