Yes, we're making up what PSV can't pay - they have a salary cap far below what Park earns.
We have to be subsidising his salary; PSV have a salary cap of €1m a year, or about £17k a week. Given that he is one of our very top earners on an alleged £60k a week, you can do the maths for yourselves. This is why the deal is only a loan and not a perm as they cannot afford him.
Couldn't we just have reached a mutual termination. Offered him like 50% of his wages for the year then we're free of him and he's able to find the next sucker that'll take him on. Makes more sense than loaning him out for the final year of his contract while paying the majority of his wages.

Maybe because he is still technically a QPR player which might sit well in TF's marketing plans, plus it is easier to slip this under the radar than yet another story about one of MH's signing that we have had to pay to leave!

The loan deal for Derry runs till September 4th, which is after the transfer window shuts and the squad registration needs to be finalised.
But, I'm not quite sure what the rules are with the loans. It may be that you can name 24 players and leave a space free for a returning loanee, and are allowed to register them, or it may be that you can't, in which case, if he stays for the full month, then he's not going to make our 25 man squad come the end of the window.
It's a shame, but you could tell by the bit part role he's had in pre-season that he's wasn't going to be a regular in any form at this time.

We don't have to name a 25 man squad in the Championship and can loan players in from the middle of September onwards - unless the rules have changed this season.
