A young Wilkins was a young exciting prospect, 18 year captain of second division Chelsea who won promotion to the top division,only to see that flare coached out of him to fit a team structure, seems that England's coaching really is so risk adverse that such players do not show their best qualities at international level seems to restrict forward thinking midfielders more than most.
