He who would Valiant be - as Super U's win again at the JCS

I'm watching Bradford v Morecambe - very poor to be honest, and the City crowd has been silent throughout.

Unless I've missed it, I think we've still to get the rearranged date for our match at Notts County as well.

Crewe v AFC Wimbledon at the top, Chesterfield v Bromley to see if they can manage a draw and keep us in contact, or Bradford v Morecambe if you want to see a right battering?

...and without any disrespect to Owen, I'd take Matt Macey all day long.

Another telling stat, on the last ten games form table we're on 16 points, or about 74 points over 46 games. Last season that would have comfortably made the play-offs. We're definitely moving in the right direction.

Just for info - Morecambe appealed the red card, but the appeal has been rejected. I don't know if they extended Angol's suspension as a result?

Agreed, it is atrocious. I can’t comment on the timeline, it could just be coincidentally years of poor drainage, unsympathetic usage and general wear and tear catching up with it. It is the same for both sides, and we’re not the only side in the EFL with a shocking pitch. I wonder if it’ll need completely relaying in the summer, or just a few warm months of rest and recuperation?

I’m sure he’d rather be starting regularly, but I hope Read doesn’t go out on loan, he’s far too valuable to us coming off the bench. From what I’ve read, Southend seem to have gone cold on the idea of taking Tom Hopper on loan.

Tovide - will he stay or will he go?

I think that must be including the additional one year option. Graeson’s ColUData website says it expires summer 2025. I’m not certain how those work - can a player refuse the additional year, or do they have no choice?

Much as I’d love him to stay, would it be worth watching him leave for nothing in the summer? Probably if his involvement propels us into the playoffs-offs. Probably not if this season turns out to be one of stabilisation ready for a proper promotion push next season.

Edit: actually maybe not leaving for free in the summer, if Wikipedia is correct in stating we have an option of another year on his current contract.

My mistake - looked at the table and miscounted the places. Definitely healthier though :-)

Still struggling now tbh, but seems to be improving?

We made hard work of it against a very defensively-minded Morecambe, but we got what we deserved in the end. Another 3pts, another win, another game unbeaten and another clean sheet, and now we're officially top half of the table - up the upwardly mobile U's.

Btw, is anyone else having problems getting on to the U'sual? It's taking an absolute age to load for me, and on all devices too.

“After tracking [h]is progress for a number of months…”. Wouldn’t have been hard all things considered. It’s a shame it never worked out here, but I’m pleased he’s got a move back home and sincerely hope it goes well for him.

If they have clubs to go to, I can't believe we would pay off the remainder of their contract as well - that's paying them twice for the same six months.

Definite no from me for Jevani. His Notts County loan was finished early because he wasn’t up to scratch - that on its own is reason enough.

In other news, and no surprises at all. Matt Jay and Will Greenidge’s contracts have been terminated by mutual consent. Please don’t spend the money saved on Jevani Brown Col U!

If you look on Streetview it is double yellows, but there is a bus stop literally right next to the ground entrance.

A solid if somewhat uninspiring point, but we're back on track - two games unbeaten, two clean sheets. Can't say we deserved more than that, but we didn't deserve less.
