When they rest ,they don’t do so effectively .
I’ve sone a bit of conditioning in my time
I’ve also worked horrific hours that would shatter these footballers
Dockers ,Shipbuilders ,miners,steelworkers,farmers ,Fishermen all had far greater exhausting jobs and infinitely more dangerous too.
It gets me going just to see them wearing gloves and tights |

There is a great photo out there of Nat Lofthouse as he finishes a night shift ,complete with empty sandwich box,off home to have some snap and a nap then catch the bus to play in front of 50,000 at Burnley park on a cabbage patch.
Tough times,tough men
Now,,even our modest club has soft,effete employees who are financially secure and they’ve not reached 30 .The likes of Allen and Naughton simply topping up their pension pots.
Few modern day beauts know anything about hard work,as our forefathers did . |

Must be one of our worst buys ever.
As a keeper ,he most certainly is Number 1
A part of the Martin legacy not forgetting we buggered up Benda ,a decent keeper ,in appalling ways . |

Great post
Times were players down a pit then came home,napped in a chair then caught us t play football when pitches were vile,a ball of death to play with and cabbage patch pitches .
Tiday,like many young mem,they are simply soft ,proven on the pitch being hurt by innocuous conteacts |

Why does everyone not see this
Why do we even debate it ,as it is so blindingly obvious
Grimes can play,he’s a good player ,just one badly coached and deployed over several seasons . He is on,for us,massive money,and he needs to take responsibility far more often than he does.
He needs to get into Williams face more often and have us end suicide ball
He has a good shot on him. He should try more often . |
