Watched the whole game v Newcastle last night and despite the disappointing result, saw plenty to be positive about.
Also watched Forest v Bournemouth and wasn’t overly impressed.

With Schneiderlin and Wanyama in front of them, the Saints back four were well protected and we were hard to beat.
Remember his introduction against Celtic in Claus’ testimonial and saw his first Saints goal at Bristol Rovers.
Always liked him as a player and he deserved his big money move.

The euphoria of winning promotion threw up an optimism that with a few shrewd deals we might be able to be competitive in this league and at the first poll this fan thought we might finish as high as 14th.
As things have progressed (or not) since then, a 17th place final position would be brilliant.
