| Forum Reply | Dragan Solak has been legged over… at 17:23 30 Dec 2024
I might just add that, no matter what Dragan Sloak may think as the biggest shareholder in SR, he still has only one vote on the SFC Board. In other words Kraft, Ankersen and Phil Parsons can, and from my understanding, have outvoted him. So yes the buck does in theory stop with him but, for example, firing other Board members is not quite so straight forward as it may seem. |
| Forum Thread | Dragan Solak has been legged over… at 16:21 30 Dec 2024
I have been reading a lot on here about the incompetence of SR. But are we not really talking about billionaire Dragan Solak being well and truly legged over by Ankersen - and Henrik Kraft as well? Because all the decisions that have been made over the last couple of years have to be laid at the door of the Director of Football surely, be they about managers, or purchases and sales of players? And if I was Mr Solak, I would be thinking that he has got himself tied up with a couple of guys who have cost him tens, if not hundreds, of millions of pounds. Of course he knows full well that he isn’t the first billionaire who has been told a load of porkies by a couple of smooth-talking chancers and is now suffering the consequences. But isn’t now the time for him to show us, the fans, exactly how much HE cares about the club and either 1. Fire that pair of incompetents? Or 2. Sell the club? Or 3. Conceivably both? |
| Forum Reply | Has he been sacked yet?? at 09:06 21 Oct 2024
I think it highly unlikely that it would cost £10mill to sack him. £5 m I would think is nearer the mark. I don’t believe he is on more than £2.5m pa, £3m tops. And they could easily argue that he has not fulfilled his side of the management agreement etc. OK there may be a compensation package in the terms but£10 m would imply he’s on £3.5m+ which is unlikely. But even if you are right, then a new manager would not cost £10m, that’s ludicrous, Pep and Klopp might but no one else. And in any case forgetting about probable player sales it would cost £70 m + in lost revenue if we were to get relegated so you need to do the math: punt say £10m to gain £70m. Sounds like a good bet to me. |

I think it’s much more to do with how much faith Solak still has in Rasmus Ankersen’s black box. Because I reckon Moyes would just blow it up, in other words there has to be a board room bust up for there to be any change in managerial philosophy. |

I half expect all the “give him a chance “ tosspots talking about how we can take lots of positives from the game. I have one positive and that’s a positive affirmation of my long held view that RUSSELL MARTIN MUST MUST MUST BE FIRED |

| Forum Reply | Nottingham Forest Game Matchday Thread at 15:55 24 Aug 2024
Forest are much better than I for one thought. We are not playing badly exactly. But they are just closing us down a lot and getting forward fast and pressing hard. But equally I think they do look a bit vulnerable if we can get behind them. But as we all know if is a very big word. |

McCarthy IS TOTALLY UTTERLY COMPLETELY USE-EFFING-LESS If that total f*ck up doesn’t convince the management that he is not good enough then we are doomed. |

Am I the only person who thinks that Scotland were utter rubbish for all their games- and I’m a Scot ! And as for our wonderful strike? Well the entire team only had three shots on target in three games. And LBH, Che showed himself to be exactly what most of us have thought for a while, ie he’s no better than an average championship player at best. Now Broja on the other hand in tonight’s Spain Albania clash was real class! We must try and get him back if we can… |
| Forum Reply | Transfer Rumour Thread at 09:00 10 Jun 2024
PatfromPoole I entirely agree with you except the bit about older players. The fact is that because we have a decent solvent -viz Everton! - owner, we seem to be linked with every Tom Dick or Harry whose contract is coming to an end or is available on a free. I really don’t think our transfer boys are so nutty as to be thinking about getting a Dads Army full of past-their-best- but-experienced (what ever that is worth) players just because they are around. So given that the Rasmus Ankersen black box seems to have worked to a degree - I admit I am saying that through clenched teeth - so every Ryan Fraser is worth a Sulemana, I reckon by and large younger players with potential who will fit into the system are where will be looking. And forget all the Fontes, Ings, Lallanas, even JWPs (sadly). Too old. [Post edited 10 Jun 9:02]

Nice article but boll*cks I’m afraid (IMHO) It’s not a question of what RM has achieved with the squad but what he HASNT!I My definition of a good manager is one who can take B and C players and turn them into an A team. RM unquestionably has not done that. In fact I would argue that he has taken a number of A/B players - eg Brooks, Charles, Fraser, Rothwell - and turned them into B/C players because of his addiction to a dead end system. He’s cr*p and the sooner the owners realise this the better. And I’m afraid that, if you really think that “it maybe wise to give a manager a bit more time than just one season after finishing 4th”, I can promise you that mid-table mediocrity is all you will end up with. Maybe that is what you are happy with. I for one am not. I want to support a club with AMBITION, something which i think does not chime with us finishing (a pretty lukewarm) 4th. |
| Forum Thread | The only saving grace from yesterday’s dire performance… at 07:52 28 Apr 2024
…was that the head of SR, Dragan Solak, was there to witness it. And if he has only the minutest amount of knowledge of English football, surely he must have seen how utterly terrible we were, with all our pointless tippy-effing tappy? Of could it just possibly be that the players were doing it on purpose so that they could show him what a cr*p team they’ve been turned into by you-know-who…? [Post edited 28 Apr 7:53]

Whilst I agree in principle with the comments against this idea, I think we should also bear in mind that the likes of us and other clubs going for promotion, reducing the potential number of games they have to play must be a good idea mustn’t it? |
| Forum Reply | Adam Armstrong. at 09:19 11 Mar 2024
I do find some of these comments puzzling! Adam is our best striker this season, period. Yes he misses some sitters, but so do some of the best. I seem to recall a certain mr Haraland have a blank run if a few games too; according to a March post in Goal.com he had”six goalless games in eight matches” For goodness sake get real people! |
