"Most Welsh people are more than glad to accept the huge subsides from the UK government which dwarfs anything Wales ever got from the EU"

Incorrect. It was actually the other way round.

RIP Mitch
at 16:14 5 Feb 2021

I didn't know Mitch personally but I listened to him on the AiC podcast and he came across as such a lovely guy. He clearly did a lot of work in the community and to see that he leaves behind a young family, is heart breaking.

RIP Mitch

I've lived in NPT and Swansea and NPT does do it better.

Swansea's issues are the plastic and black bag contents spilling on windy days, of which there are many,

I prefer living in Swansea though.

The fine wont impact much but the negative publicity is likely to.

I know a couple of people who have looked elsewhere now this story has come to light.

PPI claim companies - August deadline
at 12:16 1 Jul 2019

I've not got the time to do it myself but I was going to get a PPI company to handle it.

Are there any companies that posters can recommend as I don't really want to be bombarded with calls/spam?

Thanks in advance

Lots of Asian tourists at Worms head

I've spent quite a few days at worms head this year and was surprised at the amount of Asian (possibly Japanese) tourists there are.

Anyone know the reason for this?

Cwmcerrig Farm Shop, Cross Hands..

I went there just to experience it as I was passing. I called ahead and spoke to the owner, who was rude on the phone.

However, inside all of the staff I spoke with were Uber friendly. They may have been trying to compensate for the owners attitude but I thought they were fine.

I bought some veg and meat and while it wasn't cheap, It was on a par with other farm shops i;ve visited.

You do wonder how much better the business would be if Mr Watkin kept away from customers, or possibly sold up!

First pint... where and when

The Coach House on Wind St.

Weekday lunchtime circa 1995.

Woman in leather gear fighting with dogs on the floor.

Shart meself...and that wasn't just the dodgy carling black label.

Come on en...how much do you all drink?
at 21:07 28 Feb 2019

I can leave it for a month or 2 and limit myself when I feel i need it. I read Allen Carr's (not that one) easy way to control alcohol and it taught me a lot. The buzz i used to get from booze i now get from going for a run, and If i'm thirsty I'll have a glass of water first.

The also affects my sleep which in turn lowers my energy and mood the next day. Having one glass of wine/beer/single malt and enjoying it is enough for me, anything else is habitual.

Each to their own but i feel far healthier, happier and have more money than I did before.
