I seem to recall Everton starting with about 5 first teamers in their game in the previous round at home to Doncaster Rovers, plus many others on the bench. It's catch 22 for us. We need to give runs outs to lots of players to get them up to speed, but don't want to risk injury or suspension. Perhaps a side similar to Cardiff in the previous round, although 3 or 4 of them started v Man U. I'm expecting to see.... A McC in goal ABK in defence Smallbone in Midfield Sam AA and Wee Man on the flanks R Stewart up front The rest will depend on how brave RM is Sulemana could even get a run out of he isn't injured again. I'm not expecting anything result wise, but it may give a few players a chance to impress. |

He was brought on at Wolves away to sure up the defence (1-1 (Ings)). The trouble was he was asked to play Right Back, but he saw himself more of a Right Winger that day !! :-) |

Perhaps it escaped your memory, but you should have mentioned that Danso was sent off in that draw with Man Utd. His ridiculous tackle on McTominay earned him a 2nd yellow, which could easily have been a red on it's own. It left us at 1-1 with a man down for the last 20 minutes, so any credit in this match goes to Danso's team mates and definitely not to Danso himself. |

ABK got a run out in the 2nd half of the Cardiff game, so I fully expect him to be given a role tomorrow night as well. As for Ugochukwu, or fondly know as Big Les, he is a midfielder and actually started the game against Man U on Saturday, completing 64 mins before being subbed. |

From Itchen, past the Northam Fan Zone to the footbridge was horrendously packed. There was no clear path through, as fans were randomly stopping to chat or watch the band. Yes there were some 'keep clear' areas painted on the ground, but it was so busy that nobody could actually read the signs. The footbridge was packed as usual and the stewards that should have been sorting out the clear ways in the fan zone, were actually stood half way up the ramp to the footbridge, employing a stop-start crowd calming tactic, that actually had the reverse affect. |

We can't score and can't defend. Last season the main criticisms were that we didn't score enough in games and our defence/keeper gifted the opposition chances that they sometimes took. Now we don't score at all (bar 1 injury time consolation) and we keep on gifting chances at the back that get taken more often. I'm just glad I went to Cardiff and saw us score 5 goals (and concede 3) !! |

1. Didn't bother with the fan zone, although walking past the Northam before the game, the band sounded quite good. After the game, it created a massive bottleneck for exiting fans. 2. Nice tribute and as I stated in another post, it was good to see many Mancs also clapping. 3. Poor effort, especially in the 2nd half with us shooting towards them - but then I guess the players showed nothing for them to get excited about. 4. Stewards have been doing this for years - have moved from the family centre this season where it was almost every game and so far it has happened at both games in the Itchen. I've mentioned it many times to their faces and in surveys, but they are clearly told to do it. 5. We do have a game tomorrow night, but obviously Ipswich is the priority. |

I'm pretty sure he was on the bench for the Play-Off Final, but what has happened since then, I think only the Loch Ness Drogba himself, knows !! |

At this rate we will give Derby a run for their money for the lowest ever Prem points tally of 11. ......cue the Our Points v points on your driving licence jokes :-) |

It's fashionable to wear kids shin pads these days - the ones that are barely bigger than a fag packet. FA rules stipulate that all players must wear shin pads, so some players prefer to go for the smallest ones available. When I played Sunday League, I used to wear ones that were like a sock, incorporating decent shin and ankle protection, because of what you could get away with back then. In my Veterans League now, I still wear good quality large shin pads, but generally that is now because players are slower than they think they are and often 'mistime' tackles !! :-) |

Yes I also know a few Arsenal fans that were questioning why he was even dropped, let alone allowed to leave. Apparently it's a Spanish thing. Spanish manager prefers Spanish players, including goalkeeper. 1 of them did however took pleasure in pointing out that despite being top drawer, he has actually been relegated twice, with Sheff Utd and Bournemouth, so has joined us to get his hat trick !! :-) |

He's a left back and is way down the pecking order, despite a few good performances in the Cup last season. With a year left on his contract and a crazy bid for him, it makes sense for the club and player I guess. |

We drove, so it was great that there was only 7k fans there. Made getting in and out very easy with little traffic about and we parked just round the corner from Ninian Park train station, so 5-10 mins walk away. (although there were still spaces available in the official away parking) We reckoned there were about 2k Saints fans in attendance, but yes, loads of tickets were being sold online very cheaply, or even given away, as people obviously bought to get that extra away game. Strange to play in such an empty stadium. Those in that top tier above the dug out, must have been in hospitality :-) Far too many Pompey songs early doors, plus the obligatory sheep songs, England and Library. 2nd half saw the semi-amusing Sit Down If You Love Swansea, with a few Cardiff fans biting. It was great to see so many goals, reminding us of our trip to Newport County a few years back. Good to see so many players get a run out and have positive impacts on the game - unlike at Gillingham last season !! Not a fan of the pink shirts and agree that my ageing eyes struggled to make out the players/shirt numbers when play was at the far end from us. Pat - I give you Boxing Day 2013 Cardiff 0 Saints 3 (JRod x 2, SRL) Christmas a day late !! |

With only 1,307 tickets available, it was always going to be a mad rush. ....plus there is huge demand for tickets for this game on social media, with many people offering to pay well over face value. |
