He looked great last year. Hasn't played well this season but is that down to him or the poor organisation from both managers and poor recruitment around him.
I'm sure he won't stay with us next year, so the only positive spin I can put on it is the more interest the better!

I think in running football clubs, like most careers, sometimes there is a lot of luck involved. Football seems strewn with people who discovered 'so and so' usually they were just in the right place at the right time.
Look at Les Reid and the black box. It worked until it didn't work.
Similarly, I have yet to be convinced otherwise that Ankerson just struck lucky in previous roles. After a poor start, at least 3 bad choices out of 4 for manager, whether that run of luck can continue at Saints looks to be severely at risk. |

I think there needs to be more reassurance that mistakes have been learned. This season's key mistakes are allowing the manager to persevere with a style that clearly wasn't working and failing to adequately improve the squad in the off season.
If those 2 reasons had been better handled, the results on the pitch would have been better, games more competitive and the atmosphere in St Mary's would be better.
The stated aim to 'Yo yo' for a few years would be understandable to build the squad depth but we need to hear this.

I think Juric is trying to find players with a bit of fight in them. He's not too fussed if he has to play them out of position. Fernandes and Wellington have a bit of a spark and even Sulemana is giving it a go.
Whether this is the right approach for Saints in the long term, that's Ivan's problem. As Sports Republic seems just an exercise ATM in making Dragan's large fortune smaller, it's up to DS to get the right staff in to safeguard his investment.
With all this doom and gloom, hopefully we can pull one out of the bag today. Who knows?

Much as I appreciate his work rate, he has had 2 goes at the PL and the goals have dried up both times. He just doesn't seem able to adapt to quicker or more skillful PL defenders playing tighter to him. He constantly loses the ball either to challenges or through giving the ball away.
While it would be great to have him next season in the Championship, if his contract has only just over a year to run, then better to put him in the shop window now and cash in at the end of the season. |

It's really tough supporting a team that has been the worst in the premier league for 2 out of the last 3 seasons.
To stand any chance of survival, depending on the opposition, every game is now either a cup final or a park the bus match. Playing to avoid relegation is not going to be pretty.
We really need goals. When we were at our best everyone shared the load. Now it seems everyone freezes in front of goal and looks to offload. Need someone with a bit of oomph up front.

Great change in attitude. Struggle to see why Downes was booked for a completely fair challenge. Think we are down really but just hope Ivan can put enough fight in us to beat Wolves record even if it takes another 6 nil nils.
With Ramsdale back the 3 CBs looks solid and should stay together now with ABK having to fight his way in if he wants to play.
Still think Dias deserves a shot playing in the middle rather than stuck out on the left.
Dibling needs to be rested now and again. Livramento was overplayed and spent a season injured.
Be great if we could get something from next 3 games.

Shock treatment in order to get players to raise their game and focus is the only way that we have any chance of staying up.
Unlike some, I don't follow every league in Europe in depth, so I'll give any new Saints manager the benefit of the doubt until I see what they can actually do in post.

I'm sorry but I don't read that comment as a criticism of the fans. It's a criticism of the perils of kicking it out ie opposition get the ball and put you straight back under pressure. Which sadly came true.
There was a bit of anti RM shouting during the game from a few fans, a few v signs when he came over to clap and a rather choice adaption of the Jeff Beck song at the final whistle.
Sports republic really need to come clean on what their plans are. Are we sticking with RM regardless of results, or is there a line in the sand that will trigger a change. This could get messy if there is no clarity.
