Really difficult one.... The first 2 are no brainers from when I was growing up that I still love when I whack on now. The 3rd is one of the only albums I can think of where I genuinely enjoy every song.

That was one of those rare programmes last night where you had to watch and listen to every minute. Danny Baker is a top class presenter in spite of supporting Millwall.
My top three.
Bob Dylan - "Blonde On Blonde" - that "wild mercury sound" still seems as fresh as ever, and what a support band he got to back him on it. Blonde On Blonde.jpg
Van Morrison - "Live At The Grand Opera House Belfast" - brilliant celtic soul one off versions of his best numbers, again with an amazing backing band. Live At The Grand Opera House Belfast.jpg
Blood Sweat and Tears - "Child Is Father To The Man" - their debut LP, with Al Kooper fronting them; Kooper on this album was so far ahead of time that he left so they could regress to being quite nice - but average, and he progressed to producing and playing on Who and Stones LP's, discovering and producing Lynyrd Skynryd and also knocking out half a dozen brilliant but obscure albums of his own. The man is an undiscovered genius, honest. Child Is Father To The Man.jpg
Could also add: Zappa's "Hot Rats", Dylan's "Rolling Thunder Review", Clash "London Calling", Beatles "Abbey Road", "Revolver", and "Hard Days Night", Yes's "Yes Album" and "Close To The Edge", Colosseum's "Live" and "Valentine Suite" and Laura Nyro's "Eli and the 13th Confession"

Very very difficult. As many have said, this morning's 3 will be very different from tomorrow's, but I've decided to pick 3 that reflect as many of the hugely varied styles I like as possible;
Grandmaster Flash - Mixing Bullets & Firing Joints (Salsoul Jam: Return to the Disco Breaks) I love all sorts of dance / club / electronic music, but appreciate it isn't a great genre for albums (esp house). However this is one of my most played albums - the mighty Salsoul catalogue (the home of the acceptable face of disco) mixed by Flash, joining the dots in late 70s New York club culture, and reinforcing the links between disco and old school hip hop
Arctic Monkeys - Whatever People Say I Am That's What I'm Not I grew up with punk & new wave and on another day might have gone for Ramones, London Calling, Entertainment! etc - or later indie stuff like the Smiths...or maybe Screamadelica...but of all the albums from that genre, I think this relatively recent one from the AMs is maybe my most listened to (partly as the kids love it so it's the default choice in the car) - every song a winner:
Blow Up a go go (various) Always loved mod culture despite being way too young for the first wave...digging beyond the Small Faces, Who, soul etc, I got obsessed with quirky tracks dominated by hammond organs and bongos. This comp v2 put out from the Blow Up 60s revival night has loads of them in one place, plus a couple of great soul stompers - named after the cult 60s film, natch:
'll stop there as it said three favourite, but I could probably replace them with others I'll think of later, but they are the three that came to mind first.
Please Inform The Captain This Is A Hijack - Defeat or Humiliate The United States of America The Cure - Head On The Door Siouxsie and the Banshees - Kiss In The Dreamhouse Dr Octagon - Dr Octagonacologist Fugazi - In On The Killtaker Million Dead - Harmony No Harmony Deftones - Diamond Eyes Wu Tang Clan - Enter The Wu-Tang Pantera - Far Beyond Driven Neds Atomic Dustbin - Brainbloodvolume At The Drive In - Relationship of Command Rollins Band - Weight
Ooh Suicidal Tendencies - Lights, Camera, Revolution - good call! Saw them live in the 90s, what a blast. They fell apart just as they were hitting a creative high, though.
The acoustic version of "How will I laugh tomorrow" is an incredible piece of music.
