Bars Season 23-24 13:59 - Jun 13 with 6914 views | DaleBars | Hello Everyone The first kick of the ball will soon be upon us. Preparations are underway. The reason for the post. Is there anything you might like to add or change? We have been brainstorming and will be introducing some new products and offers. Are there any products you wish to see? etc etc I can't promise anything, but we could be missing out on some great ideas. Cost-reducing ideas? JW Lees will continue to be our supplier. Promoting and purchasing Lees products as much as possible will benefit the club. You can either post on the thread or if you prefer to remain anonymous you can email us at Anthony.Field@rochdaleafc.co.uk Regards Anthony

Bars Season 23-24 on 14:33 - Jun 13 with 5533 views | Yorkshire_Dale | Hi there,Anthony Can you give us a quick breakdown as to what bar snacks will be on offer......many of us drive to San Spotty and curb our alcohol intake, so need other sustenance , are you still offering those Lancashire Crisps for instance and pies?
Bars Season 23-24 on 15:03 - Jun 13 with 5500 views | kel | I know this won’t be popular with some but is it possible to stop people drinking at the bar once they’ve got their drink? It’s a nightmare sometimes in the Dale Bar and some people will deliberately not give you an inch when you’re trying to squeeze into a gap to get served.

Hiya, Towards the end of last season, we did have curries being sold by our catering partner. Hopefully we will continue offering food but as yet is to be discussed. The bars are well stocked of snacks. If in stock 6 flavors of Kettle Crisps & 4 flavors of Pringles. Range of Chocolate bars, nuts and pork Scratchings. We also starting stocking pot noddles. On Joey Thompson charity match introduced sweets which proved popular. The bars sold out of every snack on the charity match. Pies I have been looking in to and found a pie warmer but today I tested it and blown the electrics. So guessing it’s for the bin. [Post edited 13 Jun 2023 16:40]

Sounds like you used a Fry Bentos pie? Notoriously short pastry.

You can't drink in the stands at National League level, we'd need another relegation for that!

Hiya, Same alcohol rules apply to the National League. No alcohol is permitted inside the stadium. National league North & South are allowed. I can’t comment on smoking, this would be a question for the club. I can raise it when we start our match day meetings or can email The Supporters Trust/Club directly. [Post edited 13 Jun 2023 17:46]

Hi Anthony, for those of us that do not like curries, and their are one or two then the traditional pies would be great , preferably with mushy peas, so i would have thought it would be worth investing in a proper pie warmer and a large pan for mushy peas on its own warmer. On the alcohol front and for those that drive to games I have come across what I consider to be the best 0% alcoholic drink and that is the Guiness alternative if that could be considered. Thanks for always considering your customers and looking for new ideas.
Bars Season 23-24 on 20:16 - Jun 13 with 5060 views | SuddenLad | A wider range of bottled ciders would be good. Aspalls for example, even better on draught. The Kopparberg fruit flavours are a poor imitation for cider IMHO. As for 0% alcohol, none come much better than Erdinger.

Bars Season 23-24 on 02:03 - Jun 14 with 4822 views | Sandyman | The way the Ratcliffe / Dale bar (s) have been run compared to their past director has been exemplary. The prices are the best in the area, the venues are welcoming with excellent security, the bar staff are on point, every game, well kept real ale (Nigel will throw a Benny seeing "real ale" mentioned ) and the regular focus on customer satisfaction via Anthony is as good as you could want. Pre and post match these venues support the club and raise valuable funds. Please use these great facilities and try a change from your usual haunts. In the past me and my mates went in The Church (RIP) and Spotland Social. Not any more. Up The Dale Down The Ale in our own superb bars. Gripe: Agree with Kel about bar drinkers getting in the way of customers wanting to be served, especially in Dale Bar. A few notices / friendly words could sort that out?
Bars Season 23-24 on 12:17 - Jun 14 with 4518 views | matthewdale1983 | I agree about hot food offering would be good, although I believe food team is changing - as Lancashire hospitality aren't renewing their contract? But the curry at half time was good - so this or access to pies would be great. Would also be nicer to have a few more tables an chairs in the main bar area. Cider wise seeing though quite a few have mentioned, I personally think the Somersby's is great on draft.

Disagree massively, the pool table offers more for people to do before the game. It's a welcome addition.

Hi Ya, We are tied to purchase all products from JW Lees. The bars do not stock Kopparberg. We stock Old Mout Berries & Cherries & Strawberry & Apple. We recently tried Pineapple & Raspberry on pitch hire, but wasn't a popular flavour. We also have Magners. Willing to try others throughout the season, if we can find some fridge space. Hi Ya, We currently do not have a dart board, I have mentioned this and looking into costs. We do now have a football table though. The aim is to try make a little gaming zone. The pool table may move from it's current position to facing the bar. But this area is were we generally use for buffets on functions. [Post edited 14 Jun 2023 19:04]

Couldn't agree more. Lots of positive experiences last season. At the risk of furthering my reputation, it would be good to get the Lees stout on in the Dale bar too. Just so those of us drinking it can access it when there is a function on in the Ratcliffe's. Another vote for people standing at the bar getting in the way.

Bars Season 23-24 on 19:47 - Jun 14 with 4007 views | dalemark | Backing up what everyone else has said - the work that has gone in over the past season to make the bars better is to be applauded - the drinks selection, happy hour, different offers, staffing, introduction of hot food, change to polo shirts, general cleanliness & your engagement on here and across social media is brilliant. When other functions of the club are struggling, the bars have been a shining example of what CAN be done. Well done From an ideas point of view, it would be good to see some sort of entertainment immediately after games being done consistently to see if it can create the habit of keeping people in... DJ / acoustic singer etc... something a bit different. I've also wondered about a singer in the 30/45 minutes before games in the Ratcliffe, doing versions of the songs that people chant in the ground. I am in no way comparing us to the massive clubs that do it on a huge scale, but Liverpool do it brilliantly and I wonder if there is a slimmed down version we could try to help create some atmosphere. Echoing Tom's point, it would be good to see the stout in Dale Bar - as well as (on a selfish note) in Studds too. I'd really like to see how Studds could work a bit better at half time too (queueing / ordering is always a pain despite the staff's best efforts) but I really don't know what the solution is there - especially with the potential introduction of away fans for some games?
