I believe the ref we were meant to have was ill or injured or sumat so got replaced on the day.

After listening to the full story around this on the radio this morning I got a lot of sympathy for him, poor referee or not.
There's no queston that what he sent was in poor taste and stupid, but I'm not sure it deserved losing your career and family over.
It'll be interseting to see what comes out next. The clip was set to his bosses by a friend who then he fell out with. You've got to wonder if Maddely did something terrible to his mate, or is his mate just a vindictive person? | | | |

No it's not, and he didn't do that.
Read the Guardian article. Madley made a poor joke to one other person, he didn't send it to thousands on Twitter. He apologised and that should have been the end of it.

The "ref" was James Linington.
Monk, Rangel and Pintado were sent off. Dobbie was off permanently injured with no subs left, and when Besian also went off injured we were down to 6 men on the pitch.
Sousa accused the ref of making him send Besian back onto the pitch or he would have to abandon the match. ( 7 being the minimum amount of players allowed).
The FA found nothing wrong with the refs conduct that night. 😂 | |
