The history of the Haka is interesting.It was first performed on the international stage against Wales in the famous 1905 match at Cardiff.
To counteract it Wales sung the Welsh national anthem.
This was the first time that a national anthem had ever been sung before a sporting event anywhere in the world.
So the Haka has a long and proud history, and has to be thanked for the introduction of national anthems being sung at sporting events. |
