Another crap week in the life of Blackpool FC Fri 29th May 2015 You'd like to think in the crap world of Blackpool FC that one day we will finally hit rock bottom and things may start to improve. There have been many false dawns from the last minute escape from relegation at Wigan to the appointment of Jose Riga but each have proved little more than minor blips. In fact, if anything, those moments when you think we're finally on the up are worse than when we get slapped in the face with another piece of bad news - it's the hope that kills you! |
Looks like Cubero has gone as well Sun 17th May 2015 So where does the never ending procession of players leaving Bloomfield Road end? It would appear that Blackpool's quest to hold on to Jose Cubero may be in vain after the midfielder said that a work permit could be a problem in League One. |
Blackpool 0 Fulham 1 Sun 19th Apr 2015 'Oyster Out' came the chants from both the Blackpool and Fulham fans and yet Lee Clark went about his business of losing games as if no one really cares anymore. 16 games without a win now for the manager who is taking the Seasiders down in spectacular fashion. |
Bolton v Blackpool Preview Fri 03rd Apr 2015 In a season of very little good news, no Blackpool fan will take scant consolation in the fact that Blackpool can't get relegated at the Macron on Saturday. In fact the news will probably disappoint more Trotters fans than it will please Seasiders. In fact, there is a chance that we could get past Easter without facing the drop and it could come against Reading on Tuesday night. Never has there been a season where Blackpool have had so little to fight for with more than half a dozen games to go. |
Blackpool v Charlton Preview Tue 17th Mar 2015 The only worthy note from tonight's game is it will give a clearer indication of when Blackpool will be relegated. Defeat for the Seasiders against Charlton and it could all be over by 5pm on Saturday with a similar result against Leeds and many feel that relegation before Easter would be an appropriate fate for a side that has been mismanaged both on and off the pitch all season. |
Reading 3 Blackpool 0 Sat 25th Oct 2014 If a picture paints a thousand words then this one (albeit from Tuesday) sums it up. The one comfort that Blackpool could take from this season was that in almost every game they'd played they competed and quite often it was only fine margins that didn't lead to a result. The Seasiders could have played the Norbreck Castle Retirement Society on Saturday and still not done any better. Things are about as bad as they can get. |
Blackpool v Cardiff Preview Thu 02nd Oct 2014 First of all, thank you Cardiff City. Had you not have loaned us Joe Lewis this season then I doubt we'd have got to the 3 points we've reached so far. However, that clause about not allowing him to play against you makes a win at the 11th attempt all the more difficult. Just as Blackpool start to get a performance together which was arguably worthy of three points at Middlesbrough, it's back to square one at Bloomfield Road on Friday night. |
Two Oriols and a Ranger fit to play (but no Jose) Tue 19th Aug 2014 From 8 players a couple of weeks ago (including a couple of crocks, a couple of left overs and a couple not quite ready), Blackpool can finally boast what every other team in the country had in place weeks ago - a squad! However, even now with Jose Cubero still awaiting his work permit and McKenzie, Grant and Barkhuizen crocked, Jose Riga is juggling with numbers. |
Blackpool v Blackburn Rovers Preview Thu 14th Aug 2014 Some reporters may describe this as a 'Lancashire Hot Pot' but truth me known it's more hotch pot. As Jose Riga attempts to find a formation which will win him his first game, he does so knowing that the side he puts out on Saturday may look very different in a month's time. Having stated this week that he wants up to 10 players he may well be currently having to 'make do' with what he has. |
