It may be scant consolation to Jose Riga but in the last two outings Ian Holloway and Paul Ince both succumbed to lower league opposition in the league cup and so no pressure in terms of our previous success in this competition! However, good news has been in short supply at Bloomfield Road of late and a moral boosting win is just what everyone could do with. |

Remember when we played Morecambe a few seasons ago before the actual league campaign had started? I sat in the South Stand at Bloomfield Road, enjoyed the sunshine, shared some holiday banter with mates, ate a pie which am pretty sure was left over from the season before and quite enjoyed watching a game which Blackpool should have won but switched off at during the wrong times. |

Pity the Bloomfield Road kit man this week. New to the job, spent the summer washing 8 pairs of socks and removing 30 odd names from lockers and now he'll be the busiest man on the Fydle Coast. Today he'll be looking for the letters L U N D S T R A M ready to put on the back of a new shirt to welcome the Seasiders latest signing from Everton. |

One by one we've seen an exodus from Bloomfield road usually saved for when the fourth officials board goes up! By the time that Jose Riga had left Bloomfield Road with 3 points on the last day of the season, few would have expected that nearly two dozen players would have followed him out of the door and the Belgian would then return as manager! The problem is Jose now needs to replace the departed which finally has started today. |
