Pompey Replicate Bubble Trip
Pompey Replicate Bubble Trip

Pompey have just announced that their supporters will travel to the fixture at St Mary's under exactly the same arrangements as Saints supporters did back in December.

Pompey put their tickets on sale for the game with Saints on sale on Moday 6th February, some would say a strange move in that with over two months to the game in Southampton itself, its far from certain that the fixture will actually be played.

Indeed it will perhaps put off some Pompey fans from shelling out £27 for adults to Pompey and then find that they have lost the money should the club go bust, in truth with 3,100 tickets available in the away section, even all were sold to adults that would only generate £83,700 hardly enough to put a dent in their debts.

Pompey's 9,500 season ticket holders get first dibs on them from 10am on Monday and will have till midnight the following week to book their tickets, after that it will go to supporters who have attended 8 or more away matches followed by a general sale if needed.

Unlike Saints though, Pompey fans dont get their coach travel automatically, they then have to book that direct through Luckett's travel for £12, the same price Saints paid, however although the two transactions are seperate, like for the first game, travelling fans will initially get a voucher that can only be exchanged once onboard the coach, if they dont book a coach seat they wont be able to exchange it for the ticket.

At a meeting on Thurday afternoon members of the Pompey Supporters Truse committee argued for more pick up points for their supporters as well as arrangements for supporters coming in from the West of Southampton, but the police and representatives of both clubs were adamant that it was only fair that the Bubble should be run in exactly the same way it was for Saints supporters.

What i dont understand is pompey selling tickets, and having no active bank account, its our money. They are trading while insolvent, and the league believe they are not linked to their parent company,so not paying their players and tax bill is just a coincidence. The league went straight for our throats, and they keep getting away with it,points need taking away like they did to us.

A couple of points.

Yes pompeys selling of tickets is different from ours, however i do believe that ours was a better system in that initially it gave the loyal away fans first chance at the tickets rather than how pompey are now doing it, ie a season ticket holder who hasnt been to one away game has just as much chance of a ticket as someone who has been to every away game, all saints problems came not from the system, but in the way they actually implemented it ie they took so long, I believe this was a staffing level problem more than anything else.

ith regard to pompey selling tickets, it will only be our money should the game go ahead, if pompey fans pay their club money and then the club goes bust then pompey fans will have issue with their own club for taking the money
