How about a few “not a lot of people know thats”
at 12:11 18 Dec 2024

Strange as there was a historian on BBC Radio mentioning the Eiffel Tower just a few weeks ago.

Only a few hundred years out so we are still looking at around 4000 years which I find amazing given the rate of change that we are used to.

Actress Anita Page was a Hollywood superstar at the end of the 1920's. She would receive 10,000 peices of fan mail every week including 100 letters a week from an Italian fan by the name of Benito Mussolini.

It took around 4380 years for man to build something taller than The Great Pyramid when The Eiffel Tower was completed in 1887.

Ashby
at 00:05 15 Dec 2024

Ashby is 23 but he has only played 24 league games, and a handful of cup games, in the past four and a half years. Managers and coaches are forever telling us that players need games as we have seen with a couple of summer signings.

Everyone gave the ball away today not just Ashby, Varane did many times. He made a couple of good tackles today, tries to get us forward and gives it his all.

I am not saying he is a good player, I respect the views of those watching the games live, but the criticism on here is a bit OTT. Marti plays him when there are other options available.

Very interesting point about moving the wall forward if the ball is moved back. I wouldn't be surprised if there wasn't a rule for that.

Moving the ball back today gave City an advantage, the rule is ten yards for the wall from the ball then we should have moved. Hopefully we can ask a Ref one day. Clive, I believe David Coote has some free time.

I am assuming it doesn't as Sam made plenty of blocks over the ninety minutes.

At the end of the day THE TEAM battled hard and earned a point. It wasn't pretty but it didn't have to be.

All about opinions but Sam is still my first choice in midfield.

I can't explain 19 touches in 95 minutes, one of those strange anomalies I suppose plus the fact we were on the back foot most of the time. Does the 19 touches include blocks? I would be surprised if it did.

Suggesting that Sam Field hides has blown your argument out of the water

I thought Fields goaline clearance was half decent.

So despite the heavy criticism of the performance, the merciless criticism of the likes of Ashby and Andersen the boys earned a point.

Bristol City are no Oxford United. They have, by our standards, assembled an expensive squad and have an excellent home record. We restricted them to a goal from a free kick, scored ourselves on the break and at the end looked as likely to score a winner as they did.

Overall of course we didn't play well, sat too deep, but every player was guilty of giving the ball away, not just Ashby, but despite obvious tiredness we hung on in there for the point. You never know, if we could take a decent corner we might even have got the win.

Well done lads and well done Paul Smythe for the tidy finish. I will be honest, I was fully expecting the ball to roll a foot wide of the post!

Half time and 0-0, excellent. For all their possession City have only created a couple of decent chances. A few boos from the City fans as the half time whistle blew.

Marti will make changes, Morgan will be on soon I would imagine. Continue to restrict their chances and hopefully catch them on the break or with a rare set piece.

Careful Jimmy.

You would expect the home team to come out all guns blazing. We have to get through the first 20/25 minutes and then settle in to our game.

Coldplay - Paradise, but this is more about the amazing video of a plane landing through cloud in to Queenstown, New Zealand.

Always loved this Bruno Mars performance on the Graham Norton Show

Thanks Brian. It's nearly paradise seeing us out of the bottom three, lol.

Overall not a great performance but we still hoovered up the three points and kept another clean sheet, the sign of a good team.

Another good showing from Koki Saito both offensively and defensively, love the fella and really hope that we can make his signing permanent. 🙏

Urrrssss!

Sublime finish from Sam but I think the keeper should have done better.

Logically Sam Field is not a shape shifting alien and therefore should be subbed immediately.

Fascinating.
