Is anyone else a bit done?
at 18:10 10 Nov 2024

QPR is in the blood. I was brought up in Shep bush and remember as a kid seeing the lights from a flat in Benbow rd and wanting to be there. First game in the late 70"s as an eight year old. Exhilarating as a kid heading to the game. The grown ups, the noise, the passion. No feeling like a goal celebrated with believers like yourself. It is in the blood. I actually find myself more drawn to the club when it is struggling. Have attended many, many games but only had a season ticket when we were in league 1. In the last few years I have watched hmy local non league club (Hampton and Richmond) and tried to convince myself that they were my team. No chance. It is in the blood. My son, who is sixteen and sat on his grandfather's shoulders during the play off final is also infected. His choice was to go to Leeds away for his 16th birthday. He knows we are currently shit and does not care. It is in the blood. I would not criticise anybody who has had enough but I would say you ain't going anywhere. It is in the blood.

I mean this is shit. I was there today and manically celebrated Bennie coming on. Bennie for god's sake. But in reality does our current shitness reflect the relative value of our squad? I don't know and perhaps Bristol Cities squad is worth no more than a packet of out of date Nobby''s nuts but are we all getting angry when in fact bottom is not far off our players net worth.

I now need to add Padula's shampoo for eviscerating the club. Very good analysis.

Starting the long journey to the European capital of football and wanted a positive thread to keep the spirits up. For me discodroid always entertains. Fantastic way with words.
Dorse always good value. Hunter for his certainty and not sure who it was but there was a poster who described what must have been epic QPR fictional battles of the 70''s and 80's. Your thoughts?

MC has got to go

I really want Marti to stay. League 1 I would still want him but it is not going to happen is it? He will take the blame for years and absolutely years of poor leadership and will be next in line to be dustbinised. Lots of injuries. Chair an absolute shadow and lots of new unproven players at this level. I have no doubt some of them are good but within the context listed above it is hard to show it. I found myself saying to my mate almost positively'at least he got there's when Celar made a near post run and just about forced a corner. Crumbs. Tiny crumbs. Saying this Heverton was absolutely toasty all first half. It was so obvious that he was lacking. Surely this could have been foreseen.

I am getting man utd boxing day vibes here. Celar hatrick. Left buttock right buttock and a thunderbolt. By the power of Greyskull a new he-man will emerge onto the turf moor and the spirit of Steiner will inspire our anti- hero. 1-4.

Distant memory alert. Dean Coney. I was a wee slip of a lad during his time so am happy to be corrected by our elders.

shittu was a unit but not sure he was Beefy. But I think I am judging beef as natural build rather than gym build. Biggest unit for me would be Shittu. That guy who did that rugby tackle what was his name. I think possibly stocky rather than Beefy. It is all semantics I suppose.

Who is the most Beefy player you have seen play for us? I mean broad shouldered barrel chested. I'm not thinking Alan Mcdonald as too tall or Sammy Lee as too small but I am thinking Robbie James. Anyone else out there to challenge this prime Welsh beef?

Pretty stark facts. The press seemed to create chances in the first half and that is offensive defensive work but front five but I imagine it was turnover ball that killed us. 2 tackles!!

We will be ok. Mid table at season end. Unlucky and unclinical last night. Not a good combo. Will come good.

He came on as sub. Enfield were poor and he looked a cut above. When I say poor they were very poor. Got the last twenty. Will be their best player I should imagine.

Bikes in London

I cycle to work everyday and get very annoyed with some cyclists behaviour. Respecting red lights. Rules of the road etc. Some dangerous and some just lacking basic understanding. If I overtake you on a bike and we then meet at a red light do not position yourself in front of me so I have to overtake you again. Basics. A few cyclists giving us all a bad name.

Well. Driving to the game as a present for my 15 year old sons birthday. I have tried to show him the delights of non league football with HHampton and Richmond but the blue and white hoops run through him and me like a stick of rock. I am going for a tactical masterclass 3-0 victory. Any tips on where to park would be useful.

Who was a better player? Michael Meaker or Tony Scully
at 07:24 29 Jul 2023

The times they are a changing. Give me these two legends above Cesar and Bosingwa. We are heading back to the bargain basement and I much prefer this. Limited but interesting players. Anyway it is the grim Meaker for me. Primarily due to his outstanding performance away at Highbury when he transformed into Ginola and ripped them to shreds. Mind you Scully's volley away to Oxford in a humiliating defeat was something special. But Meaker for ne. Would welcome your thoughts.

Lower Loft safe standing

I went there with my son. Last season. Enjoyed it. Bearing in mind I only managed to see 3 home games last year with an aggregate of 0-9. That is some statement. I also went to Fleetwood away. Anyway, everybody stood throughout the game. Some older guy was shouting at everyone to wave the flags harder before the game. Nice sentiment not very well expressed.

I was in South Africa Rd and the crosses Shodipo put in were ideal for a late run by a central midfielder. Unfortunately Tim was shackled to the half way line by tge system and was miles away. Stuart Wardley would have bagged a brace!

It is disappointing that we missed out on opportunities earlier but we are where we are. Am a bit of a lapsed QPR fan and have been to most Hampton and Richmond home games in last few years. Lowe was outstanding for Hampton a massive cut above anyone else in the division. Pace and very good technical ability. Of course it is a Mile away from the championship but he really stood out. Watched Shannon Baptiste on loan here and here and he was good but nowhere near Lowe. He is currently playing for Brentford. Think Lowe will do very well.
