Dead pleased with this signing. Since we got told he'd had an offer I'd been watching and hoping he'd sign.

I'm not anti Lillis at all but didn't he miss nearly 1/2 a season due to injury at Scunny?

This definitely makes sure we have more than adequate back up and I can see this lad becoming a number 1 really soon

Hopefully this will be a good signing and he'll enjoy his time with us. I bet a few of you have checked his stats out with Soccer Manager and I think the 2012 version rated him pretty highly( for those of you who haven't). So overall I'm pleased with the capture

I'm playing the full version as dale and have only really just started but after 6 games we top the table so it's a promising start.

The main reason im writing is to reveal a few hidden gems and if you try to get them you'll have to work hard cos as i have long known FM doesn't want it too easy for you and your scouts in the early days are very naff.
Main thing you're going to need to get them (most not all) is a bit of patience
Anyway that's the hype here's the list....most have about level 80-90 current ability with potential as high as 140 in a few cases and most about 120.

Benali on Eyre?

For many different reasons I hardly wrote anything on here last season. Mainly due to health issues. However, if I had been on full form (easy to say now) I would have slated the decision to appoint Eyre. Time and again it reminded me of the time we brought in Walter Joyce. Anyway that's all if buts and maybes.

But I would like to add to this to the thread cos I sent Ahmad a good luck tweet on hearing of his move to italy and his reply was pretty much along these lines .....Ive still got many friends there (meaning Dale). "Shame about the manager."

Now you can interpret that many different ways did he mean Eyre OR did he mean Coly?

I prefer to think he meant Eyre and I doubt he'd ever (for now) say who he meant but especially in the light of this latest quote. Anyway I'll let youse decide :)

if you play the game as it's set up getting quality players into dale is in the first season very tough mainly cos you've very little money to spend and only 2 saleable assets either holness or widds. So you'll have to make do with the freebies like those already mentioned in the replies. One not mentioned who does a good job is josh wright. It'll take you at least 12 months to get rid of trotman for a measly 10K at best.

if you do try selling you might get about 100k for widds and id buy wagstaffe from charlton and akins from tranny they both cost about 30-50k and are very versatile.That should still leave you with a few bob to spend and you might be lucky and pick blackman up for free from chelsea (top keeper at this level). I always get the best keepers available to me bit like when cloughie bought shilts.

The best players start to arrive in your second season and you definately should be looking at free transfers frpm man u like wootton, drinkwater or northwood. After about a season+ you'll be able to sell these for about 1 million and then you can really start to build a team.

If you want to build fast then the best way to use your money is to buy players for zero initial cost but spread the full payment over 48 months. In that way 1 million will go a long way and should buy you at least 4-5 quality players.

Working this way it took me 10 seasons to start to dominate the prem and europe with McEachran, Niang and Daws the only "real" players left for me to use.

Recently I've started a new build by using the FM12 editor and the team that just ran away with league 1 was

I had a Docs appointment today at Cutgate surgery and luckily it was set for the time that some of the team was there to promote the new dragon. I only had to hang around for a few extra mins before BBM, JK, Twadfather, Joey T and Jack the kitman turned up plus the usual PR type people. I'm guessing there will be pics on the OS soon

I got the chance to briefly talk with Marc and Joey T to wish them both the best for this season.

Joey I got the chance to talk with the longest and he tells me he is fully over the back spasm problem and ready to play again. He picked up the strain on the first day back of pre-season.
I also asked him about KH and as we can all prolly guess he commented that KH and SE are very similar except he says SE is quieter and more thoughtful. FB on the other hand as we can all guess is in Joey's words "the voice".

Just wanna finish by saying Joey is one hell of a nice guy and lets hope he has a successful season for us. It would be nice to see him getting the success we would wish for him as a local lad
