I did had dinner there was very good. Thanks for the suggestion. The only bust I would say was I went to the Crown & Sceptre before the match and it was a cluster. The barmaids couldn't even tell me where the ground was, and then all of the beer taps went out (or were flat)
We found our way to the Queens Pub right by the ground though which was a good atmosphere.
Just wanted to say I had an amazing time at this match. R's were pretty poor to be honest, so I was disappointed in the result. In a local derby they didn't seem up for it as much as Brentford.
The view from my seat was incredible and the leg room was just about enough.. Also had a good time getting some pre match beers in at the Queens Pub (I believe that was the name) U R's are a friendly bunch I hope to get back more often!
PS: The Superstore needs some work! There wasn't a great big selection of items in there although I did manage to still spend 100 pounds
Still gutted over this. I have a new found appreciation for those of you who follow American sport in the UK. I was struggling all last week, after staying up to watch these games until 5am!
Proud of the tribe though, they gave it everything. Just ran into a better team. I feel this would have ended differently if we had our full contingent of starting pitching but those are the breaks. roll on next year!
Congrats to the Cubs fans as well. I know how it is to suffer years of heartbreak and terrible teams.
Understandable a lot of Cubs fans will have waited a lifetime for this. Looking on the bright side, someone will end there long drought in a weeks time. I have been to Wrigley a few times and Chicago in general and they are a good bunch of fans and a great city. I wish them nothing but the best (except for this week ha)
Game 1 tomorrow I cannot wait cmon the Tribe! I was fortunate enough to get 3 tickets for game 1 tomorrow. Resisting the urge to sell them for 10X what I paid for them, but this would be my first World Series game and who knows when it will happen again?!
On paper you have to give the edge to the Cubs but this Indians team seems to find a way and having home field advantage makes a big difference. I feel like we have to win both these first two to have a good chance at winning the series.
The long layoff will help with our pitching. Bauer's finger should be healed and Salazar has now made a couple of simulated starts and should figure at some point.
That is quite surprising to me. I went to an Indians game in Toronto a few months ago and the people were super friendly and welcoming. I guess in the playoffs tempers may run a bit high. I hope there is no trouble like this for the series ahead. Since our cities are close there is always a large number of fans from each city who travel to the other for games.
Cheers that was nail biting stuff towards the end. Really surprised with the sweep, this Indians team seems to have something special about them. Toronto another tough team should be a good series both teams are red hot.
NL series are getting interesting. Giants showing some real guts last night. Dodgers probably going to go to Kershaw to keep their hopes alive, I think that one will go to game 5.
I had a handful of $9 coors lights yesterday at the Indians game haha. As for the craft beers they are getting more and more popular. I do like trying out new brews but admit it's getting out of hand with all the different flavors. This brewery southern tier makes a beer called PumpKING Ale. It's pretty damn good actually but I can only do one of them as its sweet and almost 11% alcohol.
If I'm honest I'm more of a whiskey fan than beer though I general
That's pretty cool. This is by far the least amount of expectations the Browns have ever had (and that's saying something) on the bright side I think they finally have a good coach, he's just going to need a lot of time to sort this shite out
Sadly he's struggle for decades with cocaine and alcohol addiction. They actually just aired a documentary over here about him and Doc Gooden. Here is a link if interested..
I guess Darryl is doing well now but after that aired many news outlets reporting Doc Gooden is in terrible shape and in danger of dying because of his addiction.
HAHA It is crazy. I remember just a few years ago it was almost $1.75 to £1. I just went to bank yesterday to sort out money for the trip and got an exchange rate under $1.30. I guess I picked a good time to make the trip that's for sure
Awesome, thanks for the advice. Is that Fuller's pub where they actually brew London Pride? That is one of my favorite beers, the pub I go to watch football has it on tap. You know how long it takes approximately to get from Kensington to Loftus Road area? Just want to make sure I leave enough time to have a few pints from one of the local pubs and visit the R's store.
