Neither are full backs. Interesting link with Ashley Ward however that like Ward, the player only made two appearances for Pool. [Post edited 10 Dec 2020 15:48]

Not Ashley / Grant Ward. The players have different surnames but were both born in the same North West town |

This player made his debut for Pool in the 1990s. He made almost 300 appearances for over a dozen clubs, including being in a team that achieved promotion to the Premier League. He is a cousin of a current Pool player. Name both. |

Correct: Joe Hart - City & Spurs & Jonjo Shelvey - Liverpool & Newcastle. Brad Jones is wrong because he only played for Dalglish & Benitez at one club |

On Saturday 2 November 2019, Mark Howard played for Salford City against Newport County at Rodney Parade in League Division 2. He was on an emergency loan to Salford. On Tuesday 5 November he captained Pool in the EFL Trophy game at home to Wolves U21. |

CLUE: The two clubs involved in the original game play each other in the FA Cup 2nd Round on Saturday |

Once again - NOT a trick question. Who played for another club; in another league, in another country on a Saturday and then captained Pool in a different competition the following Tuesday? |

Some updates from Leagues One & Two. Interesting news from Doncaster where QPR keeper Joe Lumley has moved on an emergency 7 day loan. He played against Sunderland yesterday and should be in goal against Pool on Tuesday. Earlier in the month he played at Gillingham under a similar arrangement. Curtis Tilt played for Wigan and Michael Nottingham started for Accy. At the Highbury Stadium, Will Aimson and Dom Telford featured for Argyle with Ryan Hardie replacing Telford at half time. Veteran Neal Eardley at full back for Burton. In League Two, Scott Quigley started for Barrow and Gilks, The Fonz & Baps all started for Bolton. Peter Clarke scored for Tranmere, who also had Feeney, Spearing and MacDonald in their line up. Kelvin Mellor started for Morecambe with Mark Halstead on the bench against Scunthorpe who had Mark Howard and Harrison McGahey in their 11. Ashley Eastham started for Salford against Bradford who had Paudie O'Connor in their team. Carlisle started with both Nick Anderton & Callum Guy whilst Hayden White was a sub for Walsall. Finally at the top of the table, Jamie Devitt and Mark Cullen featured for Newport and Port Vale respectively. |

Some updates from the weekend's games. In the Premiership, the trio of Sheff Utd's former Pool players all featured in the defeat by WHU today. Chris Basham was replaced by John Lundstram, whilst fellow loanee John Fleck also started. Matt Phillips was on the bench for WBA against Man U yesterday. In the Championship, Dan Gosling was on the bench for Bournemouth. Kyle Vassall was a sub for Rotherham. Clark Robertson is out until New Year with a broken metatarsal. Tom Barkhuizen scored the winner for PNE with Brad Potts also starting. BOS played for QPR and Ryan Allsop was in goal for Wycombe. Tom Ince on the bench for Stoke. Jordan Thompson was injured on international duty for NI. Craig Cathcart started for Watford. Kieran Dewsbury-Hall started for Luton and Marc Bola for Middlesbrough. Leagues One & Two to follow. |

Adam Nowland made his Pool debut on Saturday 19 September 1998, coming off the bench to score the only goal in a victory against Luton Town. He left in 2001 to move to Wimbledon and subsequently played for West Ham, Gillingham, Forest, PNE and Notts County. in August 2009 he returned to Pool on a non-contract basis scoring in a 2-1 victory in a League Cup first round tie at Crewe. Later that week he was released. Where is the trick in that? [Post edited 19 Nov 2020 18:31]

Which player scored on their debut and also their final game for Pool - 11 years apart? |

Watching Bolton v Salford on Sky. Pool connections everywhere. Interesting stat that throughout their careers Evatt, Wellens, Fonz & Gilks have all played the majority of their games for BFC. Also Baps has played just a few more games for Mansfield. |
