Johnson and Gove, anybody who believes a word they say is too gullible for words. Bojo is a chancer who used the brexit argument to rise up the greasy pole. Gove...the less said the better. They're politicians, they lie. It was never going to be an oven ready anything and we won't know for a long while yet. I agree with JohnLangy, we could easily be another decade away from seeing the full outcome. Hoopefully Starmer will manage to get a better deal this year, I don't want the political integration but trade should and could be easier, better, cheaper. |

In which case, anybody who lives, works and contributes to the UK is British, you may well have a different view but to deny that would be hypocrisy, we all pay our income tax to Westminster. |

When you say in work time, do you know if they are doing things during lunch break or maybe they are working flexi time? My wife works from home, she walks the dogs during her lunch but she works on longer if she's late back. Her boss has said she's more productive at home than in the office. Though she does admit others in her office say they skive. I think it works both ways, Admiral have a lot of people working from home and they do alright with it. On the OP, I kinda agree with Kilky on this, if there is another proper war a lot of it will be fought by people on computers, people controlling drones/UAV's etc but as we see in Ukraine, there is still a need for boots on the ground. We'll still need infantry, pilots and sailors. The key thing will be getting that balance right and according to the military experts, right now our armed forces are too far below strength to be effective. If it goes nuclear then nothing will matter |

Points well made, I cannot argue against them. All I can do is say the same things that applies to all of us, we'll have to wait and see. For all the predictions that have been, or will be made on this forum, all any of us can do is wait and see. Personally, I largely agree with Gwyn on this, we could and should have a better relationship with the EU and it is possible but there is one very big thing that needs to happen to mkae that possible....politicians on both sides need to start acting in the best interests of the people and stop acting out of self interest. |

Talking about guessing, how do you know, or this links provider, know how anybody voted? They don't, it's pure guesswork, propaganda. You people make it up to suit your argument. |

Working from home isn't a problem, it's the "non jobs" that are the problem. Managers.senior staff don't get canned, they get moved sideways as the"higher ups look after each other. There are far too many pen pushers though, The number of them where I work is crazy, we have 4 team leeaders, a supervisor a manager and a senior manager for about 40 actuall workers. We also have 2 planners and an admin/secretary. |

Although I haven't noticed him posting for a fair while, Jasper always seemed very knowledgeable and was certainly relianle with info about the U21's. |
| Forum Reply | The folly of selecting Grimes at 13:56 22 Dec 2024
Grimes isn't a captain, he'd do better without the pressure in my opinion. I'd make Darling or Vigoroux captain. Grimes has been described as a great pro, if he is then taking the captaincy for the teams good should be ok with him. We don't have to drop Grimes either, he could play higher up the pitch. He'd still keep possession but wouldn't have the opportunity for such negative passes that put is in trouble yesterday. Given the level of performances and our thin squad, LW really needs to poull a few players in from the U21 and give them a go. Those players on the bench that are never going to play, ditch them. Tell them they can find a new club come January and try some of the kids, can it get worse than it already is? That striker with the U21's, hasn't he been much touted on here? Can he do worse than not score? This is where I need Jasper so he can give us a reliable update on the U21's. |

And he's been an ever present player who is supposed to be our foundation, our hub, our captain so are you surprised? When we don't score we blame the attack, when we concede we blame the defence... |

Well I think we can win this. It might take KW doing something different mind. How's this, instead of playing Grimes with Fulton, try Franco with Fulton and push Grimes into CAM? Tell Grimes he's not to get into his own third of the pitch and he;s to concentrate on creating chances. Then start Ronald AND Eom and tell them to get into the box and shoot on sight. Then tell our full backs to not both push up at the same time and when one does then one of the CDM's drops back to cover. Maybe it's a silly idea but I'd like to see some goals for us and if we are to lose I'd rather do it trying to score rather than through our own negativity. |

England has been run by English speakers, sow what? Mind you, look at the state our country is in, maybe we'd be better with German or French speakers. |

It's something that Kilky always ignores, the young will get old and their thought processes will have changed. Starmer has said there won't be a referendum, I suppose I'll have to believe him. Even so, the way Labour are going who knows who'll be in the hot seat after the next election. Anyway, to apply for membership now we'd have to go through the process, could take years. Lastly, people seem to be ignoring the wee fact that the EU itself has really quite large internal issues. |
| Forum Reply | Ospreys at 21:15 21 Dec 2024
Well it shows the WRU have all but destroyed the fanbase for rugby. Several years back the place would have been full to the rafters with more people wanting tickets. Football crowds have dropped a bit but tonowhere near the same degree as rugby. If the WRU culls the Ospreys they may as well close the whole shoddy edifice down because when the most succesful region gets culled, what is the point? Can you imagine any other sport in any country deciding to cull a team and then choose the historically best team as the victim? It would just look like a spot of sports gerrymandering, get the )'s out of the way so Cardiff have a chance. |

That's quite a claim unless you personally know everyone else on thsi forum and what they've done. Even the mosr experienced and knowledgeable can be wrong mind. |

I don't think we are better than what we're showing. I agree with FB, the squad is too weak and with fatigue setting in even good players are making stupid mistakes. This time of the year games come thick and fast and with a paper thin squad we could never hope to be at our best, we have 3 more games in 10 days, they will be hard. It doesn't help when the player many seem to consider our best, GRIMES, is making atrocious passes on the edge of our box. We have to be more pragmatic. Being a possession heavy team is fine when things are going well but siometimes you have to hit row Z and start again. I won't change my mind about that, I've seen far too many soft goals given away and today Hull had several decent chances because of our own mistakes. It won't be sorted in January, I agree. I'm not sure if it will be sorted in 3 windows either. We are looking at a full rebuild, that is the damage Levein and Kaplan did. [Post edited 21 Dec 18:06]

| Forum Reply | Thank you Nigel Farage at 14:40 21 Dec 2024
Oh I'm not supporting Farage but unlike Corbyn, Farage may be peaking at the right time for HIMSELF even if it goes badly for the rest of us. I look at the state of this country and the people running it and there is only one word...despair. |
| Forum Reply | Hull City v Swansea City : Match day thread at 14:33 21 Dec 2024
That is complete nonsense. A forced mistake, what about when he had a sideways pass on to Key but went backwards and giftted Pedro a chance that Vigoroux did well to stop? If he was that tired why didn't he signal to come off? IS he too selfish to do right by the team or is Franco not good enough? Going forward Grimes can be good but when he's like he was today he's a liability. |

The LaCivitas tweet... This UK government is special. Replace a professional universally respected ambassador with an absolute moron – he should stay home! SAD! And Trump refused to answer phone calls from our government. Just WTF does Starmer think he's doing? Trump had apparently said he wouldn't accept Mandelsohn as ambassador and may even use his veto. I've heard people say Starmer is a clever man, sensible, a thinker. It really doesn't look like it. |
