New Away kit .

An absolute abomination. Nothing to do with the club at all. I hate black kits. They are negative and depressing. One of the worst ever. Who designed this?

Donald Sutherland RIP

My earliest recollection of him was in the series 'Man in a Suitcase'. He played McGill's sort of mate who seemed to get him into trouble. 1st class actor with so much humour. Sad loss. R I P.

I believe we will see a government with the biggest majority on the smallest share of the vote, EVER.

Check out the Greens manifesto. It certifies their extreme left wing-edness.

Retro kits on the offish shop

I have a 70's cotton long sleeved hooped shirt for many years purchased in the 90's. I was still wearing it for 5-A-side walking football up until 2019. It's a bit worn now but I haven't got the heart to get rid of it. If they've maintained the manufacturing quality then yes, it should be fine.

Non QPR help needed

I'm not sure that you do need Business insurance. I would've thought that a training course counts as commuting to your place of work. I have been paid mileage in previous jobs in similar situations in the past without business insurance. Check with your union rep. If you don't have one then try the Citizen's Advice. They're usually able to help. Of course, a lot depends on how many extra miles you'll be covering. It might not be worth causing trouble especially if they're paying you for hours not worked. Good luck with it

This election is largely irrelevant. Firstly, there is NO Conservative party. There are 3 SDPs. Then there are The Greens: an extreme left wing party. Then there is The Nats. The SNP will win tens of seats on a small share of the vote. Then there is the reactionary party, Reform: I expect them to get a good chunk of the popular vote which will likely yield them 2-3 seats. There is also Galloway who could throw a small spanner in the works for Labour who will win by default with the most lacklustre group of 2nd raters that I have ever seen in British political life. Not that the Tories are any better.

This is the age of Globalism. The election that matters is in November.

In fairness, his performances against Preston and Leeds at the end of the season were 1st class. He blew hot and cold through the season, though with an above average number of mistakes. Phil Parkes, he ain't. Time to walk into the sunset and end on a high.

great song writers......
at 00:40 30 May 2024

McCartney has to be top for me: For quality and quantity. Brian Wilson, Paul Simon, Mike McDonald, Jeff Lynne, Gary Brooker, Ian Hunter all up there too. Plenty of others from the 60's and 70's. Manfred Mann, Justin Hayward, Denny Laine, Rod Argent, Junior Campbell, Roy Wood, The Doobies, Steely Dan, Bill Withers, Jeff Beck. Those of us that remember it were blessed but for younger people the songs live on. Too many to mention. Howard Jones tops the 80's for me. After that, not much. It's all about personal taste. I wouldn't criticise anyone's choices. We like what we like.

Early '80s. Always remember the words on the wall on the side of the Loft on Batman close : "Jim G is a C***. Always seemed somewhat ungrateful.

This is exactly what they did in 1975. The pro-EEC campaign was massively funded by the state. The Anti-EEC campaign was funded by mainly small donations. People like Benn, Shore, Powell, Foot and others had to pay their own expenses, hotels - the lot for their public speaking dates. I was pro-Europe then. Watch the debates from the time and every one is won by the anti-EEC campaigners. EVERYTHING they said came true. The likes of Heath and Jenkins spouted vague utopian ideals when challenged with facts.

That Pizanti goal against Wham takes some beating. I was wedged in the Paddock right in line with him when he hit it. A goal all the way.

Tony Currie. Let go from the youth system around 1966. No problem - signed from Leeds in 1979 for £400K. For me, got to be the biggest howler. Imagine having 3 midfielders coming through at the same time like Currie, Francis and Busby.
